WE WENT THERE AND WITH FIRE CRACKERS COULD REMOVE THE TIGER AND WITHIN ONE WEEK THE ENTIRE TRACK AND STATION AREA NEARING 5 KMS WERE FENCED BY 8 FT HIGH BARBED WIRE FENCING. WHILE DURING CONSTRUCTION ALSO TIGER WAS VISIBLE DRINKING WATER IN THE POND ON TOP OF CUTTING OPPOSITE UKSHI STATION.
Very good interview and information. But the big question is how can some trains run at 160 when most others will run at 130, 120, 110 and even 100, 75 on the same tracks. Will it not be a huge challenge to deal with mixed traffic?
Mixed traffic is the main problem but IR will never take care of that..only Vande Bharat will be taken care off!!! Other train ka koi value nahi hai...
We've been stuck with 160 for long... great initiative by govt, albeit a bit late in this. Coaches from the '80s have 160 capability marked on them. A solid 220+ would do good to the railway system here, its not impossible, if the right engineers and the govt put their interests together and work for quality as opposed to adjustment...

the requirements mentioned by minister to make these 160 KMPH are , large. If Railways r planning to upgrade these tracks from sleeper , ballast to OHE. Why not directly upgrade them to level of 250 like china did. So that in future 200KMPH trains will run on these without need of second upgrade and without wasting Time & resources. Also the tracks r already utilised more than 100%. Why not lay a new faster tracks . Quadrilateral par 4 lane o chahihey hi. Learn from china. Its not a shame to learn from them. These Tech of Train, track etc can be exported easily to Africa Afghanistan Bangladesh Sri lanka Myanmar. And even Pakistan in future. In INR. But we shd be fast in these steps and Railway Bureaucracy shd tighen the belt. Minister is already good. Laying new track will demand more fund hence your proposed idea is not cost effective. Second , you mentioned tracks are running on 100% capacity which is true however , with Dedicated freight corridor and more freights trains moving to corridor has created capacity. Precisely, by segregating freight and passenger trains capacity has been created .

Fencing is the first thing railways needs to do throughout the country before going for higher speeds. Not just for cattle but also for human and vehicular trespassing. Even the railway crossings have to be made more fail proof. Even at the stations people should not be allowed to cross on the tracks. Railway property should not be trespassed in anyway. Only genuine passengers should have access to only the proper platforms from where they are going to board their trains. Without these measures high speed trains are going to be disastrous.

These trunks were built a long time ago, electrified a long time ago but there hadn't been a single muscle moving to upgrade the speeds. Why does IR rely on this redundant mentality is up for the community to decide. We keep producing non AC rakes for operations beyond 2050.

This is not fencing. This is just a hurdle for cows. And for neelgay it's just a joke. In every work they just want to save the money, that is why most of the money get wasted. They don't really want to serve but just want to showoff. It should have more height. And there should ve underpass at every crossing, otherwise cattle will enter from the crossing and will not be able to come out easily.

This is not fencing. This is just a hurdle for cows. And for neelgay it's just a joke. In every work they just want to save the money, that is why most of the money get wasted. They don't really want to serve but just want to showoff. It should have more height. And there should ve underpass at every crossing, otherwise cattle will enter from the crossing and will not be able to come out easily.
Because cattle causes derailment of trains, humans wont cause derailment, but they will just burst and create less danger for train.
