  • Today's video is another skincare collab with my beautiful friend Shana over at @smellyskin! Stay tuned as I have a makeup collab video coming out with another beautiful creator here on TH-cam later this week!💄
    Shana's @smellyskin channel: / @smellyskin
    Shana's video: • Our Top 5 LA MER Favor...
    Apologies for the hilariously wild change in lighting throughout the whole video-I film in front of a huge window and the sun could not make up its mind if it wanted to be in front of or behind the clouds that day!
    As much as I love the luxury experience, I do not believe that one needs luxury skincare to have great skin. La Mer is something I decide to invest in, but of course there are many other brands out there that work wonderfully as well!
    Thank you so much for watching this video, and I hope you enjoy!

    Hello beautiful! Thank you for coming up with yet again, another fantastic collab video! You did a terrific job describing each product, and I love how we had very similar thoughts and opinions on each one, despite not knowing what we were going to say! Just goes to show that the products speak for themselves! You look stunning in this video as well, I love the makeup look! Your skin is also so even and bright! I'm so glad that the products work for you!!! Thank you for doing this video with me!!!

      Thank YOU for doing this video with me and even more importantly, thank you for introducing me to La Mer in the first place! I wish I had tried their products sooner! I'm so happy that I'm no longer on the hunt for "bigger and better" skincare now and am using products that are beautiful and that work! So happy that we did this video together and got to celebrate our mutual love of skincare! 😘😘😘

      Hello! 💕 I love that we adore so many of the same products! Totally understand about the moisturizing cream-it is very thick in texture! Have you tried their soft cream? @@stedwyer4569 Haha, we definitely have to be picky with our skincare, especially with products from lines such as La Mer with their hefty price tags! I'll be interested to hear if you end up falling in love with the Soft Cream. I find that one almost similar in texture to Sisley's Velvet Nourishing Cream with Saffron Flowers! Love both lines so much, but La Mer is definitely sooooo nourishing and soothing for my dry, rosacea skin! ♥️

      @@bornblushing I absolutely agree! Haha it wasn’t as fluid as I liked, you see I love hyaluronic acid moisture creams and lotions and i have very sensitive oily skin, (and prone to redness mind you, ) and i like products that have quick absorption, and the LaMer soft cream was eh! So this time of year, I’ve been using Sisley Black Rose face cream and it’s so amazing! I do get ultra shiny midday, but thank goodness I keep my Shiseido blotting paper handy!

    Hi Brittany!! I have never tried La Mer...mostly because of the price. I am pretty happy with my skin care as of now but always on the hunt for a really good eye cream. As I age I have evolved from No. 7 to Exuviance to Tatcha & Dr. Dennis Gross. For the price I think Exuviance is still my favorite. I hope you have the most coziest, joyous holiday season 🥰❤️

    • @bornblushing
      @bornblushing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! 🥰 Totally understand-La Mer's price tag had me hesitant about purchasing anything from them for years! The eye cream I really love is Omorovicza's Gold Eye Lift, but again that's got a hefty price tag! I was lucky to find it on sale. For La Mer, sometimes I find brand new and sealed items on Poshmark, so I keep an eye out on there as well. I love a good deal. 😂
      Thank you so much! I hope you are having a relaxing holiday season as well. 💕 I have a fun makeup collab video coming out on Thursday and a couple of other makeup videos scheduled before the New Year. I hope you enjoy those! 😘😘

    Hello beautiful, I just seen your video and you have me running to purchase the Infused Lotion today!
    Just a question… I like to use retinol in the evening do I use the La Mer Infused Lotion first then the La Mer Concentrate and last Retinol??
    What are your thoughts on using retinol with La Mer?
    Many thanks Pina x

    • @bornblushing
      @bornblushing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Pina! Thank you so much for your kind comment. I don’t use retinol (I tried it but didn’t experience any benefit). I think it depends on how you’d like to layer your retinol in your routine. I think applying it before the other La Mer serums would make it more potent, but if you want to “sandwich” it, then applying the La Mer serums first might offer a gentler approach. I hope this helps, and let me know what you think of the Infused Lotion! 💕

    • @pip585
      @pip585 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Brittany, I have only used it twice and so far I’m loving it! I can now see why you love it so much! This will now be a staple in my routine it’s worth the spend. I can see it will last a long time as you only need a few drop’s.
      I have used other La Mer products in the past and after trying other products I always go back to La Mer. Regards to the retinol sometimes I wonder if it’s all hype as my skin always feels dry when I’m using it. I have recently started using BR Lotion P50V, thought I would give that a go instead of retinol.
      What are your thoughts using Lotion P50V in my La Mer routine. I also have normal to dry skin and turning 59 this year.
      I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions as you’re very knowledgeable on La Mer and BR products.
      Many thanks 😊

      @@pip585 Hi Pina! I totally relate to your thoughts on using retinol and La Mer. I gave up on retinol since, like you, I found it didn’t do much for my skin other than dry it out even more. My mum also had a similar experience, so she stopped using retinol as well. And ooh yes, I always go running back to La Mer! Have you noticed that they’ve reformulated / changed the packaging of quite a few products recently? I really hope they haven’t changed the Oil Exfoliator!
      I use P50 PIGM 400 every night after cleansing in place of any retinol. There are only two versions of P50 available in Canada, so that’s why I use that one. I plan on posting an evening skincare video soon, so I’ll make sure to talk about that when I do it! 💕

    I just splurged for my birthday and purchased The treatment Lotion and the renaissance Infused lotion.. I have Roascea also so I have high expectations (I got a couple nice samples which included the concentrate serum also which im excited to try). what do you recommend (not necessarily this brand.. )for something to really clean pores and keep the skin lovely and smooth.. :)

    • @bornblushing
      @bornblushing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Happy birthday! You chose excellent products. For keeping your pores clear, I highly recommend P50 by Biologique Recherche. There are many types of P50. My preference is PIGM 400, but that's also because there aren't many versions available in Canada. If you're in the US, an alternative is the D22 Tonic by Danucera. I've tried it, and it's incredible. I'd buy it if it was available in Canada!

    Hi beautiful! I came across and wanted to ask if you are still using the same La Mer products? I use mostly Sisley. And I too have rosacea, but more than your skin. Wondering, if you have tried Sisley brand and your thoughts on it. Also, what foundation, concealer you are wearing her (if your remember) Thank you.

    • @bornblushing
      @bornblushing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sarah! Thanks for watching. I still use La Mer's original cream at night -- I can't be without it! I mix it with a drop of Sisley's Black Rose Oil and it's divine. Unfortunately, I couldn't justify repurchasing the other products, as much as I love them, and they've reformulated The Tonic since this video, which is a shame as I LOVED that texture and formula! I haven't tried the new one but I heard it's very similar to The Treatment Lotion in terms of viscosity. For rosacea, I found their Genaissance Infused Lotion to be fantastic.
      Love Sisley! My favourites are their Velvet Sleeping Mask and Black Rose Oil. I believe in this video I was wearing Sisley's Cushion Foundation! And the concealer is the one by Cle de Peau. Hope this helps!

    • @bornblushing
      @bornblushing  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Barbara! Oh my goodness... it is SO nice. So nice, in fact, that I had included it in my top 5 until the very last minute as I thought it would be better to only discuss the facial products from La Mer's line. It is very thick and luscious but not at all sticky or greasy, and it leaves a very elegant glow to your skin. Beautiful scent as well. I find the hydration lasts a very long time, even between showering! It's certainly an indulgence, but a little goes a long way and it's a beautiful way to treat yourself. I use it in alternation with a body cream from another line that's much more affordable, so I can make it last longer! Hope that helps! ❤
