I had a 84 cj7 with the 2.5 AMC and I loved it, the wrist pin tic never got worse. Great motor, good torque. I fried the computer and eliminated it.one wire replaced a bushel of wiring harness and a junkyard falcon carburetor replaced the the one on it. Ran perfectly.
Jeep xj 2d question! I found two connectors in the bottom trim behind the front seat What might they be for? And what could I do with them? BTW this is the guy that asked about the power window and door lock conversion! Turns out I already have the harness. All of the plugs are there including door actuator plug in the hatch!
AMC designed some of the best cars of their day on a budget of three and a half dollars. if they had the money of the big three we would be driving jetsons cars!

Just read what was going on at AMC and Renault during the mid 80s (specifically 86) and this truck makes sense. Or at least they have an excuse.
