How about yall put your business in breeding reef fish so you don’t have to go catch them from the ocean????? I know as a fish owner I want my fish captive bred so they are more hardy and adaptive to the aquarium also it pays better

      1. Low success rate getting spawning and fertilized eggs in captivity. Which is why mainly clownfish and some gobies are captivated breed but only a few have success with other species like tangs and angels. Demand is too high for captive bred to handle. If we were t switch completely to captive breed only then all fish prices will drastically increase due to a now corner market. Also from a economic standpoint a lot of the collection sites these fish come from the locals rely on that for financial income. Look at Hawaii, if I recall about 18% of all natives had some part is benefiting from the swelling of ornamental fish. Now they have to find new jobs or leave the islands to go mainland. Also during the time before the collection ban but the collection zone and non collection some had increased population than the previous study
