You mention you will put measurements, template, tool names etc in the description but I can't see anything - where should I look for that information please?
CLAY! Earth plastic! One of the human race’s oldest companions. I found a Roman-era clay tile,in London last year, along the Thames River. This tile, right after it was made, while still wet and soft, was stepped on by a dog! I own a 2000 year old dog pawprint on a tile!! Also,I commissioned a local potter,Mari Kuroda, born in Japan,to make an Udu drum,a pottery drum from west Africa. A teardrop shaped vessel, with a hole on the side,it creates beautiful sounds,no drum skin, just popping one’s palms on the top and side hole. It made the local newspaper!
Very cool way to make a jug. I am learning pottery on a wheel but find slab an encouraging way to make beautiful things while I am learning. Thanks for the great tutorial.
Great work! Thank for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. Such great explanation in your instructions. Thank you again. Oh your excitement and attitude is awsome.
Thank you for taking the time to share your process. I will definitely give this a try. Also, I am in the US, so I don't know what you have available in Wales. Another potter here in the US shared this, so I can't take credit for it, but she uses a rechargeable caulk gun as an extruder. Depending on how often you make handles/coils it is time saver as well as a hand saver. Sharon Hoppe uses a Milwaukee 20oz tube caulk gun and uses a piece of plastic at the die end, between the die and cap, to keep the leftover clay soft. I have horrible arthritis, so I am sooo thankful that she told us about it. Also, I love your accent. I live in Kentucky and almost everyone has a Southern twang, ha! I look forward to watching more of your tutorials, thanks again.
Hi there, I make mugs every 3 weeks, around 30 mugs. That's how much can fit in my kiln. I use the extruder every 3 weeks then. Sometimes, I'll ask my hubby or my sons to help with the extruder when they are around, but so far, I'm ok using it. When the need is to change my extruder, then I'll look for something else. Thank you for watching 🌹
omg!!!! i didnt know you had a youtube channel!! i bought one of ur mushroom mugs a few weeks ago and absolutely love it, so beautifully made and the design is gorgeous. thank you
Your passion for pottery shines through... you make it seem so easy! And I appreciate attention to detail. I absolutely love my mugs - it gets lots of attention sitting in my kitchen display cupboard. Truly unique items for the discerning shopper👌. I'm sure there's plenty more unique designs to look forward to Janine ! Sending warm Cape Town greetings...
Hello there, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills so generously. I am from Cardiff, living in Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm starting to hand build pottery as a semi retirement project. Looking forward to learning more about this wonderful craft.
You did a wonderful job with your video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!! I liked and subscribed and I can’t wait to see more videos from you!! LOVE From New Mexico USA❤❤
12:25 keen to make a jug like this.. can you clarify the measurements please. It appears to me that you have a curve along the bottom edge of your pattern where the circle will be attached, how much did you allow for the curve. Also the top edge appears to have a “shape” what is the measurement you allowed for this. Thanks for your videos. Joy
Thank you so much I’ve been making vases but badly wanted to know how to do the shape and lip can you tell me how you make your template, I loved your tutorial
Hello, great job🫶 can’t find the link for the tool you use in step 8 to shape the top with your yellow half rib?! Can you help me? Thanks and love simone
mdf moisture resistant. I don't like using the canvas sheets. It leaves the lines of the canvas. The mdf moisture board.. easy to clean and leaves no marks on the clay.
My guide sticks are 9mm. I start off with 9mm, but then I'll round a little without the guide sticks. Between 8mm and 7mm are my thickness, but for a beginner, 9mm. The more you do, the more you feel you can go thinner.
Sorry, the measurements for this jug are hard to sketch out because of the shape I've created. I am trying to find a way on how to sketch this pattern. Just need more time. Thanks
❤Awesome

May I ask what depth are your rolling guides and do you always use the same depth?
