    15:52 Thank you, I have visual processing issues, and their are some beautiful decks out there that I just can't the backs of, or sometimes the box, I never thought that I could cover the backs with sleeves or with contact paper. This video just opened up my mind to new possibilities. Thank you for that.

    Your ephemera packets are GORGEOUS. You've a talent in collaging and you may want to think about making this an actual commercial deck you can sell. It looks lovely so far. Thanks for sharing your process.

    Oh and I don't know if it's worth mentioning but whenever I use clear contact paper to cover anything I do the other way around, put down the contact paper (which the sticky side up) and carefully drop down the card, this way I never have a problem with bubbles)

    Bicycle brand playing cards do over size decks that are oracle card size, and they're around $2 a pack (in Canada). It would be a good way to try making your own deck without spending too much on a 'ugly' tarot or oracle deck. I may use them with a custom Lenormand deck since I can sort of preserve the playing card aspect while designing my own face cards.

    Thank you

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  ปีที่แล้ว

      The contact paper doesn't peel away too bad, but I shuffle this (overhand only) very carefully. Because there are so many layers it doesn't hold up as well as the deck I sealed with mod podge to be honest. But my intention to is eventually scan and print the cards so then I'll be one flat piece. :)

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the theme is very personal to the person creating the deck. So I would say go with whatever resonates for you. I didn't really think about mine, it was more of an intuitive process of just going with whatever felt right in the moment. :)

    Hello there, I’m 16 yrs and love your channel! New subscriber. I was wondering if you could tell me what tools are those you use to cut the cards besides the scissors and glue, there was this clear looking cutter and a round-square one I believe. I’ll like to buy them but don’t know what they are. Also do you know where I can find quality not too tick or thin scrap paper? good enough to glue it on blank-white cards, and also those you have with the letters (affirmation-quotes) ones? Also what paper did you use to protect them? Hope you see my comment. Thank YOU!!!

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sometimes use just a small cutting mat and an craft knife to cut things too. I use a corner rounder sometimes as well to clip the corners. I generally buy my scrapbook paper either as single sheets or in pads at the craft store, that way I can feel the texture of thickness of it. I usually either cover them with clear contact paper or add mod podge to seal the front of the cards. I hope that helps. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    Beautiful!! Is there a specific number of cards required in a Oracle deck.. Or is it upto the interpretor?

      There isn't a set number but most try to hit between 44-60. That seems to be the average, although I always prefer more cards than less. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    Oh my gosh sorry for ALL the questions!! 😁 The paper you used on these cards is it scrapbooking paper? It looks thinner. The stuff I have is so thick.

      I love questions so no need to be sorry! Mostly it is scrapbooking paper and alot of what I have is pretty thick but sometimes you can find those cheaper packs (usually the off brand stuff) and it's a bit thinner and usually only one-sided. I also use alot of old calendars as well which are really thin. I hit the dollar store (several actually) at the end of the year and buy a bunch of their cheap calendars. They work really well for this type of crafting when you're going to be layering up paper. Hope that helps! ❤️

    Is there a preferred number of cards in a deck?!?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not for an oracle deck, you can have as many of you'd like. In Tarot there is an established system, so it needs to have all 78 cards, but for an oracle deck, they generally create their own system. So the number of cards is up to the creator. I hope that helps. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    How does it shuffle?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It doesn't yet. 🙂 My plan is to scan them in and have them reprinted. These are just the base I'm using for creation. It's pretty thickly layered with paper so I don't think it would actually shuffle very well in its current state. Hopefully once I get them printed, they should shuffle nicely.
      🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
