Just watched Bulls Knicks game and DeMar DeRozan wore these in the Garden but he’s proven you right Chris. At the start of overtime he swapped in to a pair of Grinch’s belonging to Torrey Craig who’d been wearing them in the game, then in to a pair of PJ Tucker PE 5s. Great review, I won’t be trying when they release in Europe next weekend.

Out of all the release on thr 13th, I’m hoping to get the 6s the most. 8s would be a nice consolation prize but I worry about that narrow fit. Took me some time to break in the 6s but they ended up being amazing to play in. And my favorite all time superpower is flight but to not see where I’m going would be awful, so I guess I’ll phase through walls when I sneeze lol

I've got a pair of the react AF1 mids, and after a month or 2, the react really compressed.. now I am a heavy person so it might hold up better for a lighter person, I can see that Heal to Toe drop reducing after break-in.

I think the curvature on the forefoot outsole is intentional to provide more change of direction stability. It does a good job of that intent. Tested them yesterday. That said, I agree with you that is does feel a bit awkward like something is pushing up on your pinky toe joint/outside of the foot. For me, it doesn't hurt or take away from the cushioning, but I do notice it.

I love the OG tongue over the protro. It had cushioning in the right places and had perforations elsewhere. Not sure why they’d stitch a swoosh when they’re meant for balling in! The only thing that was an upgrade, imo, is the react drop-in
Hooped with these in a tournament last weekend. It’s pretty much a retro with small updates. Wouldn’t call it a full on protro though. I hoop with the OG pair and these and the main differences I’ve had was that the weight of the shoe feels bottom loaded which makes the shoe more stable in my eyes. That and the tongue and ankle collar on these has more padding than the OG’s. Still a top tier shoe that a lot of people will definitely enjoy. 🔥💪🏻
Big ups for breaking down the "protro". I was think about picking these up just because their Kobe's but at the end of the day they have to work for my son on the court. Straight "sneeze thing". Would just have to walk around with pepper packets in the pocket.
I have subconsciously ignoring every Kobe drops as I know I will hit L on them. Nike do not deserve my 10 seconds when they are not even caring about their products.
The ones they just released with all the numbers on them had a thick tongue. But these are my one of my favorite shoes at the moment to play in. But I do swap the midsole with one that has a zoom unit on the heel
I'd pick flight easily. You can just open your eyes mid flight, fall a little, and close them up again after you've taken a good look at your surroundings. You can also stop your fall by closing your eyes every time.
Kobe 8 and Kobe 9 with the LeBron XI midsole was one of the all time great set ups to hoop in ever. Now I just stick with Kobe 6 protros but would love to see the drip in midsole with zoom option
1. Out of the 3 releases, I think I like the 6 Italian Camo the best. Great review of the Venice Beach 8's though. L's for Kobe releases are to be expected, until resell market or supply saturation is realized. 2. I am really waiting for the Kobe 11 elite line to get some love, particularly the red horse colorway, however I just seen the ALT tumble grey 11's and those look great. 3. Love the Cyclops Shirt!!! With X-Men 97 (Last Episode OMG) and the way WWE has been hitting on all cylinders. I kinda have those childhood nostalgic height of entertainment Vibes going on. Mix that with the One Piece run, Demon Slayer, and potential DB super return...... What a time to be alive. At least for some things... 4. I was able to cop my Jordan 9 powder blues, so all things considered I got a W for the year and since I can get Air Trainer 1's on the low. Both shoes I had as a kid ans represents the first of both Nikes/Jordan's owned, so it's great to be able to get a piece of personal history. Question of the week...... Own a real life lightsaber while being slightly force sensitive or have a personal Air/Spacecraft with the ability of warpspeed travel.
I think the flying ability is my choice as it can work as a safety feature where I can hover in the air if I fall from a high place and slow down my descent to avoid injuries.
I personally like that they retained the thin tongue, PURELY because the original did. I could easily see a scenario where fans gripe that the shoe isn't "true to original shape" because of that. . . And for the superpowers, I say take the flying with eyes closed. Just always have a friend/spouse on your back (think skydiving with an instructor, except going up instead of down) that way you can properly travel wherever you want and know where you're going. (Could eventually have an AI or computer powered directional system in place, but that's thinking WAY too much into it 😅)

Always safely land.
Won these but lost the other 2 instantly. I wish they could do the cushion setup better. Slap a full length zoom strobel on them and call it a day. One can only wish...
Do you think shoe stretchers will work ? I got Kobe 6 at size 12 and they fit tight and than I stretched them out and they fit fine now. I hope I will have same luck with these.

I am curious to see how the grip holds up. If I remember correctly the original Venice Kobe’s had really bad traction and picked up dirt easily. I will still buy as I love the colorway, but here’s hoping the grip is more prominent! Great vid as always
The Hibbetts Hibbetts closest to me actually got all colorway releases except the navy blue. Super appreciative for this informative Video period I am a wide footer so I had to go up to a size 14. The carbon shank On the medial side of the shoe Literally Stabs me..literally only on the right side foot. I didn't understand why, but maybe it's because of how thick and unlevel the Nike react phone is as well as how the Outrigger is pushing my foot towards the shank. I hope they fix this because if not, I probably won't ever buy another Protro....other than the 5s

Great video! I got these and notice the outside of the toe area that wraps around to the side has 1" glue like thing and there's a hole in it that doesn't look great. Is that normal? Any recs on how to fix, or just leave it?
3 Oz heavier is krazy. Thats why i like the original Kobe 8s so much. These were my secret weapon shoes lol. As a really fast person, weight makes a difference thank you for sharing this, will not be copping. Kobe 8 were never comfortable, but krazy light
