  • Dane and our host, Jonny Gibson will be chatting about a range of topics: from what makes a book worth reading, to addressing that overwhelming feeling of owning too many books that you haven’t finished and then finally, we’ll dig into Dane’s wonderful new release Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers. If you only read one book from 2020, make it this one-it’s that good.

What a joy to experience their joy in the Lord, their fellowship with God and one another. The passion they both exhibit for the Lord, for writing and books is palpable, you can sense the depth of their relationship with the Lord on a daily basis. This was a great blessing.

Stumbled onto this today..glad I did..I had bought the book already and have been reading. It's a book I couldn't bring myself to mark up. But recently learned it has a study guide so have purchased and am waiting on delivery.
I was raised Catholic so my default view of God is not loving. Did read Knowing God many years ago which was transformative. However, this last year in being diagnosed with breast cancer, it has been a "Job" like experience, a challenge to my faith, at times very dark. Ortlund's book was like a ray of light, simple but profound. As he mentioned, instead of seeing God/Jesus in 2 dimension, the readings and study made God/Jesus more 3 dimensional. That's my hope, to gain a bigger view of God that I might love and worship him truly.
