And then there's just a kanji that is ta on its own.
I get the kanji came first but it still just seems silly learning it as an outsider.

I used to think that all the kanjis are complicated. Just came to know that the kanjis in the beginning grades are pretty easy and the higher grades will be fine as you keep on progressing.

I have a question. For the おん reading of kanji, since it is the Chinese reading, would you use the words from the おん reading for actual conversation in Japanese or is it used just for the reading? It's probably a silly question but I wanted to know for sure.
Words that use おん reading(おんよみ) are commonly used in conversation. おん reading is used in many compound words(or sometimes just an independent word). These are used regardless of written language or spoken language. For example, 花びん (かびん) means "vase", where "ka" is おん reading of "花". This is only an example among numerous ones. In compound words(the words consisting of two or more kanji), おん reading is rather more commonly used than くん reading and they are used regardless of reading or spoken. Sorry for repetition. Addition; verbs or i-adjectives including okurigana like 見る(to see/ look, る is an okurigana), 赤い(red(adj.), い is an okurigana) are always くん reading. Thank you.
Thank you for the answer. I have one more question if you don't mind although it's not about kanji. One of my major goals for the next year or two is to be able to speak Japanese fluenty. I'm having trouble with this. I know that Japanese has a pitch accent to distinguish between words that have different meanings but are spelled the same (in kana), and I know Japanese has 敬語. But I can't find anything that gives me information on these things. In order to sound fluent I need to learn the proper pitch for various words, and I need to know the proper formalities to use in different situations. If you have any recommendations on where to find information I would greatly appreciate it. ありがとうございます

The kanji below the rice fields means power or strong . So man is a power person who works in rice fields .

I’m a native Japanese speaker and saying ありがとうございまして is incorrect in Japanese so you can say ありがとうございます

Question: when writing 左右, you said it means ‘right and left’, but 左 means ‘left’ so is there a mix up in the order? This question probably doesn’t make sense but I would appreciate some sort of answer. Thanks!

Do you use the Kun Readings when the Kanji is just by themselves, and the On Readings when the Kanji is paired with another Kanji? Like 人 is "ひ" by itself, but in "人間" it is pronounced "にんげん?" Thanks!

@@NettoRockman It is True that mostly foreign/borrowed words are written in Katakana however it's not uncommon to write native words in the aforementioned script( like how onomatopoeia is almost always written in Katakana)
Native words can be written in katakana to give them a bit more emphasis,kind of like how we use _italics_

Great video, more kanji to practice writing - I do struggle reading kanji whether it's on-yomi or kun-yomi (I know what they mean though) because they have multiple readings, and I do like to see more in sentences to help me sight out which reading is which, thanks

Why do you alternate between the on-yomi and kun-yomi words for counting numbers? sometimes you use shi, other times yon? are the two readings interchangeable in this context? Thank you for the video.

i have a question, for 人 the kunyomi is "hito" and the onyomi is "nin" but why is 日本人 read as "nihonjin" and not "nihonnin". Sorry if this is kinda dumb question.

Thank you for watching the video. This video is just the overview, so I omitted important readings due to the restriction of time. The ones I mentioned are not enough, but it would not be necessary to remember all the readings from the beginning, especially by doing so independently apart from the words it is used. I think it would be better to remember readings with the words it is used. When you remember the word it is used with its reading, you could remember the kanji's reading more naturally than doing it independently apart from the word. Sorry for my poor English. Thank you.
