Wonderful. Would love to have this for all our heroes. Very instructive about what is necessary for change even today. Courage, compassion, committment.
Brilliant. Just a reminder that Bogle and Gordon were hanged, not hung. The past tense hung is for inanimate objects like clothes but for people sentenced to death it is hanged.
It is indeed pleasing to have such a video accessible to our youths and young adults. Allow me to express my appreciation for this bold move on your part. I trust other will endeavour to do same with more material of our history. Blessing be with you all and your family
@Naturallycocoa Really?Have you traced the ancestry? I stood by his grave a couple of years ago.The courthouse is again burnt out but theres a chap named Mr Abrahams who looks after the place and told me the story.Let me know how you get on or if you need help with the research
Who taught you that? I think it was the other way around. The maroons never sold out they saw that most of the slaves didnt want to fight n when captured they would only give up their position for raids... the truth is most of yall were cowards n only wanted to eat n sleep but yall didnt want to fight u didnt want to die for freedom. Yall jus wanted to keep on hiding n running.
@@1iyahz214 so the maroons didn’t have a militia working for the colonialists? Even in this video it stated that Bogle was captured by the Maroon militia. So, try again explaining how the Maroons are not sellouts.
Is this what Paul bogle fought and died for?, yes he's a national hero and we're very proud that he had a hand in jamaica rebellion into independent, what he's achieved none of us today has. My disappointment is: that in todays society that we're more freer and yet the people are fighting and killing amongst themselves, I'm sure Paul bogle could never have forseen this after his sacrifice but I'm sure he had great hopes for us. And also the parish that he actually started to liberate is the said Parish that as been forgotten and one of the poorest. The jamaican government of today need to hold their heads in shame that the east of the island that actually made a big impact on jamaica and its people have been left on the side line for so long. It's only now we maybe seeing a little spark in development in the east of the Parish, and if not thought out properly may jeopardise the potential of St Thomas because they're or was thinking of giving away the cockpit country to investors without any acknowledgement from the people. There is potential in the east and good investment is good investment but don't just invest without knowing how to invest. Paul Bogle has laid a foundation and we're all part of that foundation of a legacy that is fundamental to what jamaica can be, so I'm counting on the PMs to step their game up and not make us all regret how far we've come to not reach our potentials...
Mr José must ask the Jamaican government that question because they were chased out of Jamaica by the Spaniards or killed we as Jamaicans would love to have them back in their home land out of many one people that's our way

Great video.
The noise/sound in the background make it so difficult to assimilate and digest such an interesting human history.
Kindly remove the sound.
The background music is so loud you can barely hear the speaker, thus not being able to actually learn about the morant bay rebellion.
Can u give background detailed information?
I feel like I'm playing Runescape

Most people today don't know the real history of the maroons,They sold out the run away slaves at the time and even use them to hunt down slaves.
Great topic but very lazy use of images from the wrong time and place!!! 3/5 STARS
