Lovely video.. thank you! In St. Lucie County (inland about 10 miles). I planted 4 redtip last fall & 3 more this summer. None have flowered/fruited yet - I'm guessing maybe next Spring? I've not trimmed them and they have grown like gangbusters. I plan to leave them natural (untrimmed). Do you know if there are male & female plants? Thank you again! 🙂

@@laos5630 Hello in St. Lucie County! 😁
That depends on how fully mature the plants were at planting. If you planted a healthy 3 or 7 gallon plant, I would say to look for flowers next Spring. Look for bees! They love icaco flowers. Producing fruit requires a lot of energy, so plants put all of their efforts into putting down good roots initially. From my experience and what I've read, they are self-fertile. They are so very lovely in their natural form. Thank you so much for watching my friend and for the wonderful support. 😊

@@peacefulbirdgardens Thank you the information! I figured they just needed time to get settled in. I'm anxious to have plenty of food around for the birds that I do have, so I planted those, Simpsons Stopper, Wax Myrtle, Wild Coffee, Coral Vine, a few different hollies and a bunch of wild coffee. Gotta keep the birdies fed! 🐦
