  • For this mission, Mike and Jason head down to Zion National Park to take on one of the most famous big wall routes in the world the Moonlight Buttress. Towering 1200 feet over the valley floor, the Moonlight Buttress offers pitch after pitch of exposed crack climbing in one of the beautiful parks in the country. After a hard day of climbing, and a sleepless night on the wall, the boys have to dig deep to make the final ascent

For folks that are considering aid climbing moonlight buttress, I highly discourage you not to. It is arguably one of the best free climbs in the United States. Every time you weight a cam (and bounce test) in soft sandstone it pods the crack out a little more. It is by no means a difficult aid climb and there is no excuse to be taking aid falls. There are many more less crowded and interesting beginner aid walls in Zion.

I applaud him for discussing the risk factors, and his fear after the fall. It was a nothing fall, but I have definitely had days where I wasn’t in the head space… well done.

Grew up here, the sandstone is very brittle. Really sad to see people disrespecting a beautiful location completely needlessly. As stated below there are easier climbs you wouldn’t need to aid. Feeling like you need something to boost your feeling of being a man at the expense of this beautiful scenery is really a shame. I get going up with the intent to free climb and falling short but this is just ridiculous. Play around on hard rock and leave the sandstone for more delicate climbers. Just sad.

This show is so badass. I get inspired by these dudes. Sucks to see all the climbing gatekeepers in the comments trying to take away from the adventure. Always remember adventure is relative, everyone was a beginner once, someone is always better than you, and the point is to enjoy the outdoors!

This is a 10 pitch climb that gets done by weekend warriors as FREE climb every weekend there's not a bunch of aid goobers clogging it up.

The premise of this show is great, but it's a little bit stale in terms of watching a couple of relatively affluent White Guys do Adventures. These guys are experienced outdoors people. This show would be far more interesting if you took average/novice adventure people and threw them into these experiences.
