I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I have 5 kids and have homeschooled for the past seven years. Your perspective on this curriculum is helpful, but it's hard to honestly review a curriculum if you have only used it for a week or even a month, for that matter. It takes time to understand how the curriculum is laid out and what preparation is needed for the teacher. Most homeschool teachers need to make tweaks to a curriculum. Changes are ALWAYS needed. Sometimes, we may need to suffer through using it for a while in order to discover what those changes are.
Currently, we are in our first week of using A Gentle Feast. There is a learning curve, especially if you have never used a Charlotte Mason approach before. Before I started, I had decided to do our own Bible reading plan. That was an easy switch. I am also combining science for all my kids and not doing British history for my form 2 (4th grade) student. Another modification is that I chose a different nature study than what was recommended, as I already had something similar to what A Gentle Feast suggests.
Many will find your video helpful. I know I appreciated seeing the curriculum when I was considering A Gentle Feast. However, I just wanted to give a word of encouragement to anyone who may be on the fence about A Gentle Feast. Consider what small changes you could make in order to make the curriculum work for you. If you don’t like something about a curriculum, you are at an excellent place. That means you understand what you are capable of as a teacher, and it means you have a wonderful understanding of your student’s needs.
There are so many amazing options for homeschool families. If anyone is really considering A Gentle feast, check out their two free weeks of the curriculum on their website. I found it extremely helpful.
    Thanks again for the video.

This is why I appreciate reviews from people who have used a curriculum and finished the year.

I would like if you explained in more detail why you didn’t prefer certain things like the language arts for example. “Not my preference” is ambiguous and it would be helpful to hear specifically why you don’t prefer some of the things you mentioned. Thanks!

Something to keep in mind is that CM's schools took 6 days to complete a week's work, where in the US we like to take 4-5 days. There has to be some things cut out. Also, AGF is do customizable that you can do recitation more if you like, or read the 3rd grade literature in 2nd, substitute a book from another booklist, etc. I actually schedule everything out in a separate planner so that I can do so. I'm ok with subbing things out that don't fit, and having the framework set up for me.

Great to see a flip through. I’m wondering about the online part of the curriculum. I’m wondering about customising the spreadsheets and how easy that would be.

I have many grades, but my concern would be with my 7th grader who likes to be independent. Is everything studied together as a family or is there an option for one kid to basically open up the teacher's guide and work independently?

If you have a student that can do it all independently, then they can. There isn't a teacher's guide per say. It's closer to a lesson plan. Your 7th grader can look at the plan for the day or the week, and read the required material.

Yes, Cindy Rollins for morning time is correct. There is also Pam Barnhill that is "Your Morning Basket".

4:19 if you choose to read different Bible passages, will the lessons still make sense?
That kind of thing is why I don't like all-in-one curriculums. The kids can't move at their own pace in each subject when multiple subjects are meshed together.
If it doesn't matter though, you should just start reading wherever you want

Some of the things you dislike is just the way miss mason did things.
