This is truly inspiring. I am going dual projectile weapons 99% of the time with the occasional melee finisher as a backup. After seeing this I really wanna dive into melee builds though. So stylish.
I've been carrying started sword on my left, weapons on every other slots and I struggled, the Lance and any other melee you're comfortable with does do wonders with so many enemies.
It's always best to try out different builds to different bosses and see which one works. In my case, my char zaku build couldn't keep up with CEL240's speed so I went lightweight and melee.
@@slowcyclist4324 Changing arms, legs, and thrusters can make a big difference. Different ones have different lock on stats as well as how big the boost is to close the gap. And with the pilebunker, it's always better to be beneath them than above them because the charge attack is an upper cut. If you want to hit melee shots, you need to stay close. Which makes pistols a good option as well, as they have high impact that let you stagger quickly. But it's all about timing and watching that stagger bar. You need to try your best to make sure you're already at melee range when you trigger the stagger.

@@derangeddroidgamer6420 The cocoon defenses are actually something akin to MS size units thatcuse their mass and speed to break through ddfenses since projectiles and beams dont work. They work like a hive, each unit acting independantly and being made up of hundreds of Units, the Gundams prettyvmuch cut straight through them.
I see you have no right shoulder weapon. Did you know that if you store your right hand weapon in your bay you can swap freely between equipping it and punching? Punching is super useful for melee builds, so this is great tech if you dont need a right shoulder.
I was expecting you to use Pilebunker due its the only anti iblis weapon i know and quite Perfect lore for Mika's choice of weapon but it's kinda fine for this build
So I heard. Cel240's aggressiveness depends on how you fight it. If you keep shooting it it'll keep flying around and attack you. Although I can't tell the difference myself because I haven't tried the nerfed version yet.
This method is literally the only way I know how to beat this boss. the first melee weapon plus the pile driver to be specific. I can't imagine beating this thing with just guns
Another easy method to cheese it is missile spam, with the stun needle (ice worm weapon) to punish staggers and any attacks where the boss stands still. Timing missile barrages one after another makes it very likely at least a few will hit. That said, it's a lot less clean and a lot slower then this melee method, that's for sure.
While I appreciate the build, I think the Pile Bunker instead of the Laser Blade would make more sense, since Barbatos is all about physical weapons. Also a Linear Rifle and a Songbirds on the right shoulder to simulate its cannons.

I was considering this weapon combo as well and saw OngBal's video using those. This video is solely made for spectacle and accuracy but not entirely accurate representation of Barbatos.

They nerfed the accuracy of Barbatos Missles and Ibis Laserstrikes (it's a lot easier to dodge now Ibis sometimes even misses if you stand still) and C-Spiders Durability in the last patch.
Ah yes, I felt i was good at the game when I finally beat this boss after several tries. Then i watch this video and am reminded of how trash I am. I will say, lightweight build seems to be the only option because of how easily you can get out maneuvered. I went dual shotty/piledriver/missile launcher and just played close range. Still took me forever. :/
That’s awesome homie, the game is tough don’t feel bad! I like to run a medium weight build, boost speed around 320-340, 2 stun needles with long shotty and the starting melee. 2 stun needles are pretty broken. I’m on the last mission of my 1st play thru so I’m sure there’s some better combos
They changed BALTEUS, the SEA SPIDER, and CEL 240. Luckily I was able to beat all three of them once pre-patch - I beat CEL 240 the day of the patch before it was installed. I did benefit from the changes for my NG+ and NG++ runs. I just finished the Alea Iacta Est ending a few hours ago.

This boss was honestly not super hard for me, though- first time i fought it i defeated his first phase first try easily. But died second phase, and other attempts his first phase was suddenly harder? Idk. but, i know that a proper lupus rex would 100% solo the game neg - mid diff, if they did gundam dlc with ibo with barb's weapons and stuff making it almost 100% accurate to anime too.
I thought I was the only one to notice. If you fought this boss numerous times enough, whether to farm, get an S rank or no damage. You'll notice that it's behavior is not consistent and varies differently on each fights. Sometimes it's aggressive, other times it would just stay still at the distance(that is what the bazooka was for) and I get comments saying that this is the nerfed version of Ibis. lol Yea, I never thought of this fight as a reference to anime at first with Ibis looking like Hasmal/Qubeley. If this ever gets dlc melee weapons I would definitely pick something to bonk bosses with like I did on ER and DS. :D
@@derangeddroidgamer6420 I think it's like this with all bosses though, I know helicopter, jug and that fortress thing are some of the easiest. Yeah, maybe with like a mace weapon. Metal weapons like swords and spears, hammers, scythe, etc. There is custom mech wars coming out.. you can most likely create complete gundams and stuff.

And would play similar, with nearly infinite if not infinite creations. People would probably make a turd mech or a Lego one or one like Markiplier or PewDiePie. Bro what? You can't just slap on a bazooka and call it "Barbatos Lupus Rex." Not only has Barbatos ever used a missile launcher of any kind in any battle in the entire series, but the Lupus series of Barbatos is objectively double magnum handguns.
LOL I know but you can't really make an accurate build in AC6. I always use melee on DS and Elden Ring but here they don't even have a mace or something similar. When he fought Hashmal, he equipped barbs with arm rocket launchers otherwise he wouldn't be able to punch a lot of damage to hasmal if they were just handguns (that's afaik because I have the hg lupus with optional weapon parts). Bazooka is still a form of a rocket launcher.
@@derangeddroidgamer6420 My AC6 Barbatos Lupus build is two handguns, Pilebunker on the back left, and unarmed back right. The substitution for the Lance instead of Pilebunker probably works better for Lupus Rex than Lupus though. As an actual AC build, it works very well though. Makes it very easy to stagger enemies with the high impact of the handcannons and then go in for the big damage of the pilebunker, furthering the stagger with kicks and punches. My season 1 build is pilebunker, either Harris or Curtis Linear Rifle on right, sword or baton on back left, and either unarmed or Song Birds on back right just because I want some wave clear lol
@@tobynguyen9407 Damn, you're right. I always associate wrist rockets with Gusion because he does that all the time. Though he kind of pulled it out as a surprise attack. I think that's the only time in the series he uses a genuine rocket launcher. But it does make a good argument for canonical Song Bird shoulder weapon.

I initially used pilebunker on this fight as well and even made a video of it. I don't like that it only took 4 hits for this boss to die because it almost look like I was cheesing him and OngBal also already used the same weapon combination, I switched to claws instead which is very fitting for lupus rex. I'd probably upload the first video I made to showcase how it look too easy if I used pilebunker.

Exactly what was the "nerf"? Whenever they just say "there were changes" on a difficult boss, it's automatically assumed to be a "nerf"
have you tried the Stun baton? The delayed Blast can pretty much keep enemies in perma Stun 😂

It is certainly possible but is much more difficult. However, I am too devoted to my DMC Dante build to not use guns even against Ibis

got him with scudder, 4 burst smg, begging missiles and 8 cells vertical missiles, on a light weight build. Needed quite a few tries tho

@@derangeddroidgamer6420 yeah, hoping it'll have a campaign that's at least 16 - 30 hours, and have unlockable parts like armored core and that one mech game on steam. And would play similar, with nearly infinite if not infinite creations. People would probably make a turd mech or a Lego one or one like Markiplier or PewDiePie.

It rly is sad fromsoftware had to nerf this boss cause the souls community had the sickly case of Skill Issue or got filtered by a helicopter/missle hampster

Bro what? You can't just slap on a bazooka and call it "Barbatos Lupus Rex." Not only has Barbatos ever used a missile launcher of any kind in any battle in the entire series, but the Lupus series of Barbatos is objectively double magnum handguns.
LOL I know but you can't really make an accurate build in AC6. I always use melee on DS and Elden Ring but here they don't even have a mace or something similar. When he fought Hashmal, he equipped barbs with arm rocket launchers otherwise he wouldn't be able to punch a lot of damage to hasmal if they were just handguns (that's afaik because I have the hg lupus with optional weapon parts). Bazooka is still a form of a rocket launcher.
Well, i remembered that the 5th form (space) did have rocket launchers though? In the fight againts Kimaris on Earth's high orbit
@@derangeddroidgamer6420 My AC6 Barbatos Lupus build is two handguns, Pilebunker on the back left, and unarmed back right. The substitution for the Lance instead of Pilebunker probably works better for Lupus Rex than Lupus though. As an actual AC build, it works very well though. Makes it very easy to stagger enemies with the high impact of the handcannons and then go in for the big damage of the pilebunker, furthering the stagger with kicks and punches.
My season 1 build is pilebunker, either Harris or Curtis Linear Rifle on right, sword or baton on back left, and either unarmed or Song Birds on back right just because I want some wave clear lol
@@tobynguyen9407 Damn, you're right. I always associate wrist rockets with Gusion because he does that all the time. Though he kind of pulled it out as a surprise attack. I think that's the only time in the series he uses a genuine rocket launcher. But it does make a good argument for canonical Song Bird shoulder weapon.
@@IngenieurStudios That's literally the weapons I equipped my Char Zaku with and same finishing method with pilebunker, you should check out my other videos then you'll know what I mean. I initially used pilebunker on this fight as well and even made a video of it. I don't like that it only took 4 hits for this boss to die because it almost look like I was cheesing him and OngBal also already used the same weapon combination, I switched to claws instead which is very fitting for lupus rex. I'd probably upload the first video I made to showcase how it look too easy if I used pilebunker.
