Last month I had 160 mg/ Dl at fasting . My A1C is 6.5 ? I am not on medication 💊. I am trying to reverse it . My Uric acid is too high 8 . Too much protein diet . I was given Allopurinol 1 every day 100 mg . My weight is 200 lbs and I am on a vegan diet now and use Avocado 🥑 and Greek yogurt as well as big green leaves . I do not carve for sugar or carbs . I feel good drinking 2.5 liter still water a day . I am 69 years old and I was not very active . But now I walk every day 1 mile and I started a diet based on veggies and chick beans , no meat no fish no carb no bread no pasta no pizza no white rice . Only 2 Boiled eggs yes a week . I feel good to see my waist line a few inch smaller . My BP is 130/80 . My cholesterol is LDL 180 mg . Thank you so much DR . Have a great day . May God bless you 🙏

My A1c was 6.5 June of last year. I just had it checked this month and it was 5.4. No medication. Just very careful about what I eat. No pasta, rice, sugar sweets, or bread. Dropped weight from 245 to 185 and blood pressure down. Only negative is total cholesterol and LDL is up. So I guess I need to watch the butter, whipping cream and eggs. I'm 65

It looks a low carb and may be a Keto diet that you are following. If your ketone are up for being on ketosis the. It's good but I think on that diet your LDL goes up as well as cholesterol. Please check.

I tried having it at 99 to 110 and ended up getting sick. I would not eat being hungry for fear of my glucose numbers being high. I found myself one night sitting in the kitchen crying because I was very hungry but was told by my doctor at the time not to eat late at night. Changed doctor, changed diet, and my highest glucose number has been 170 at my birthday. I had half a slice of cheesecake. Now it's usually 120 fasting or 138-142 two hours after eating. I am learning so much watching your videos.

Normal blood sugar is different for all, it depends on the life you're living a hard worker like heavy lifting, moving like a lot of walking then you need a higher blood sugar, but some people just sit to a desk and work just need a lower blood sugar. This is what the medical world didn't study well.

    • @musclebone7875

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

No matter what you do for living if you’re healthy your blood sugar is tightly regulated in your body. When you have diabetes then control is lost. Blood sugar goal is stricter for younger and healthier individuals and we are less strict for elderly and frail adults.

My doctor did not seem to concern on last lab test, a year ago 5.7% with 117. But I do care. Am I prediabetic?

When lifestyle fails you’ll have to consider either educations or supplements.

Buy a treadmill and some weights. No more need to worry about weather. Burn more fat, gain more muscle. It your pancreas isn’t making insulin, then maybe you need to take some insulin. You can also experiment with lower carb diets which make glycemic control easier.

    I have a question..
I’m a recently new t2.. since official diagnosis I’ve made lifestyle changes that I believe are quite sustainable.. like regular walking and a more conscious outlook on diet.. I’m a ‘normal’ weight for my height and age..
Since beginning regular monitoring, my app is saying my estimated A1C should be around 5.3
Which is great as it reflects my current lifestyle.. actually due for my test this week.. so excited to see the real numbers..
And now we get to the question..
I tend to fall within the normal ranges at the 2hr post meal usually below 126 even down to 85..
and anywhere between around 95-120 fasting..
but should I be concerned about the fluctuations durning that post meal time?? Is there a maximum at any time blood sugars can or should reach reach?
Like if I eat a doughnut and 40mins later hit a 250+, stay there for an hour or so, but fall back to normal at the 2hr mark..
    is that ok?
What is a normal max peak during that 2 hr period??
Or am I asking how long is a piece of string.??
In speaking to my diabetes educator, she has said she see numbers with some cases that would scare the life out of me..
Perhaps it comes down to risk factors.. if your sugars are high with high regularity your risk of severe complications is high..
Kind of like drinking.. a glass of wine now and then not so bad but a bottle everyday will carry far more risk factors..
So I’ll try answer the question myself.. if you want a coke, have one.. avoid it if you can, but once in a while like at a party, although it will spike your sugars for a few hours is better than doing it multiple times everyday..
    Still curious regarding maximum peaks…

    Well I disagree with that.
If it’s not healthy for a non diabetic person to get above 140 after a meal , it’s not healthy for diabetic one either.
Diabetics are not special in this situation.
There’s always an option of active life and healthy diet.
Of course if a diabetic will eat as a healthy person their blood glucose will go wild.
I’ve managed to drop my A1c from 8.3% to 4.8% with diet and sport.
So it’s all about a choice and not pretending that high blood glucose is ok for diabetic
