Thanks Matthew for the information. My wife’s Part D plan is being canceled at the end of the year. Just over a week ago we submitted the application for a new stand alone drug plan. Aside from a letter in the mail acknowledging the application we have not gotten a sales pitch for an advantage plan. However we have been getting a bunch of solicitations via regular mail pushing advantage plans from various companies.
I was new to Medicare this year. I was going crazy finding as much information as possible. Then I found you and watched all your videos and trusted you. You had the best advice, honest and genuine. Thank you for your dedication to your customers. I read your texts informing me you’ve sent an email to watch on Utube with updated information. Thanks for the warning.
I have gotten 6 calls from my current Aetna plan ( I'm switching to Medicare Blue RX.) I don't answer and voicemail showed me they're pushing Advantage plans!
Thank you Matt! The video was very informative. I received lots of e email and call once I submitted the application for Part D. I called your office and they advised me not to do anything. Thank you.
This is my first Year on Medicare and I and my husband have a supplement. I worked for many of these Health Plans as a Provider Relations Rep./Contractor. I know how they work, but I'm now surprised to see all the text messages, calls and mail that I receive to get me to try to sign up with the Dis-Advantage Plans. I really wish they would STOP!!!!
I have a Plan N supplement through your office with Aetna and they have sent me several mailings encouraging me to switch to their Advantage plan. I always rip up the mailings and put them in the round file. I also recently canceled the Part D plan I had with them due to their huge rate increase for 2025 and signed up with a different carrier. So far, I have not had any phone calls or mailings from them other than their acceptance letter and ID card for the new Part D plan.
Yes, all you covered in your video did happen to me by a few companies, but Aetna did call and harass me since I had my par D with them last year. However, they increased the cost by 500% and I moved on to a new plan. The best advice you could give is the way one can check and make sure it actually has all the plans one had selected before Dec 7th and that it will stay that way. Will the medicare site show all your selected plans as current?
Thanks Matthew, I’m new to Medicare and interviewed a broker who suggested I ‘buy Advantage first, then switch to Supplemental with the Trial Right rule’. Your detailing of the ‘fine print’ tells me I’d be disqualified - my A & B have different start dates. I’m still looking for a Supplemental plan that has some coverage for hearing/hearing aids, but was told only MA offers this. Disappointing…ugh.
@@djdeje5536 adding hearing, dental and vision is easy. we can help you with that along with keeping your prices low for a supplement Use this and ask for Jordan in the notes. She is an expert at that.
Matthew, thanks for the heads up on the scams. Always good info from you. I have the $0 Wellcare part D plan and haven't received anything from them trying to cross-sell me on one of their MA plans. I have, however, been bombarded by regular mail and emails from UHC/AARP, BCBS, Humana and Cigna trying to sell me their MA plans -- especially UHC/AARP. I delete the emails and the mailings go right to the recycle bin.
I just tried to speak to a company to get prices of my drugs so I could compare theirs to others I was going to call. First thing she wanted was my medicare # but I wouldn't give it out. I remembered what Matthew said in this video. I told the woman first thing I just wanted prices of my drugs and what tier they were in, total cost, etc but she brought up the I need this or that in case I sign you up for a plan. She apparently doesn't listen too well. So I'll just to have to do things on my own.
YOu can do that on my website: partdshopper.com/ I do not include all Part D plans here, just the ones I recommend and work with. Still, it's free and easy to use.
Hi matthew, I am a new agent who has been following you for quite a while now and have learned a lot. Thank you for all that! I recently sold my first Medicare plan and it was somebody who was in their trial right in Washington state and switched over to a supplement plan well she still could as her health is not good. She definitely needed guaranteed issue that she could have never passed through underwriting. So I heard you say that there's no commission for me. That would be very disappointing because not only was it my first one but I worked with her for many months before switching her over. It is with medico. I'm interested to hear if you know anything about that
But Medico? Take a look at how little they will pay you if at all. In Washington state they pay almost nothing to the agent. You won’t survive on that.
For me, it wasn't about the money. I just want to help that client. Yes, it's nice to get paid something, but more importantly it's about helping the client I could have moved them into a Cognal or something, but she would have paid in excess of $30 a month all for me to make a few hundred bucks. If she were to live 10 years, should be paying $3,600 extra and 20 years would cost her over $7000. It's good that I helped her and I would have been cool with it if they weren't paying me. What goes around, comes around!
The other scammy thing is all of the ads on YT promoting free grocery cards for all seniors - totally only to sell disadvantag plans. These insurance companies are reimbursed by Medicare for some of those extra benefit costs. This also needs to be changed.
This is the second time you’ve made me nervous about WellCare. I changed to a 0.00/mo Part D…or I thought I did. Better check it out before ending open enrollment.
Yes, they were purchases in 2020 and have been down hill since. The good news is that CVS fired the person who was ruining Aetna and put a more experienced manager in charge, as of last month.
If I have a Medicare supplement plan that I started when I first turn 65 in 2018 and today I want to try a Medicare advantage plan for 2025. Would I be eligible for the trial right. Of 12 months with the Medicare advantage plan?
I have a United American Supplement (thanks to you guys) and a WellCare Part D Plan. I recently received an email from Express Scripts inviting me to download my Medicare EOB. Why would a PBM be involved in my Medicare plans. I am thinking it might be a scam but the "from:" address looks legit. Any ideas?
