I loved MEL's incarnation in the Prime-continuity Legion comics from before Flashpoint (the ones where Lightning Lass was always Light Lass and never had to switch her powers), he's a cop who helps take down their version of Lightning Lord after he takes over the minds of his species. And by "take down", I mean Lightning Lord starts screaming at him while sticking one of his sparking fingers in his face and Tenzil just bites his finger off to prove that he cannot be bothered to care in the slightest.
Honestly, his powers are definitely something I’d be jealous of. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen something that looks interesting enough to eat when I know I’d get sick or die by just putting it in my mouth.

His digestive track is weird, basically his race can turn anything into pure energy. Yes that means he doesn't produce solid waste and other then electric sweat when he eats too much (a galaxy's worth) he doesn't need to relieve himself.
I feel like this character would be taken more seriously with a more streamlined name like Matter Muncher, or you could go the opposite direction and give him a funny one the Masticator
He's about to summon a black hole from all that matter he absorbed. It doesn't go anywhere apparently. A black hole would make sense. Create a fictional physical explanation, like he's the only small body capable of strong gravity. He's a small scale star in the core, with a humanoid shape and outward projection. Therefore, he's an alien conscious being that due to anthropocentric views he can assume any shape. When he's interacting.with an insectoid, he "becomes" one of them.
