- Enjoyed this several times over the decades 1st time for me & my TR6 (monza exhaust) Eller in his TR250 (stock exhaust) turned me onto the sound, we were touring side by side @70 mph no O/D & the magic happened. This clip my TR6 (monza exhaust) & Gary Hunt's TR6 (monza exhaust) recorded on tour 101NB @Rincon Beach. All that's required 2 British 6 cylinders, stretch of road where you can drive side by side @70 mph will do the magic, give it a go. You can hear me clic out of J-Type OD. When they're synced they will sing...Wait for it & Enjoy!

Get with a fellow TR6/TR250 owner on the hwy side by side (best) several miles speedo needle @70 mph (no OD) sweet spot it's quite impressive & worth the easy/peasy effort simply a SOUND all TR6 owners/lovers should experience. When I was 1st turned on to it thought something had failed now look forward to any occasion

Greetings bro,no didn't visit Canley but passed it many times by rail(it was next to the London to Birmingham main line),that was in the early 80's,by that time Triumph really was in trouble as was the country!
Did work at Jaguar,Browns Lane , Coventry as a contractor, very interesting and loads of automobile history!
Think the Jaguar S Type had just been released to market and the company going back to their roots in terms of classic veneer dashboards etc,so it was interesting to see these items being manufactured.
Friend of mine back in around 1985 had a Triumph 2000 TC saloon built 1974?
Straight 6 engine,twin carbs, overdrive on gearbox, absolutely lovely car to drive.
I have a V8 Triumph Stag which I've owned since around 1987 but it is quite poorly!
Also run Jaguar V12 XJS/Jaguar XK V8 convertible which I love driving when the sun comes out and I have to emphasize the When!Haha.
Looks like you get better weather there?

TR7 shape of things to come turned out to be truth in advertising as many automakers copied that shape for decades after. Perhaps just a job then but still unique working there seeing them produced owning/driving seeing them now coupled with the memories must be a treat. Not mistaken believe pretty much the same straight 6 used in TR6.
Appreciate hearing part of your story in British Iron once owned by & Drive one we forever have British Iron in our Blood. S.W Desert of Southern California (Palm Springs area) absolutely the best weather in the USA year round dry heat, gets extremely hot (Jun-Aug) (Sept-Nov) a 2nd Spring temps mid 70s-80s couple Xmas 80 mild winters rain avg 15" yrly
Reasons I relocated back here after 20 yrs from 9 months (Oct-Jun) of pea soup overcast rainy 3 months of maybe sun/warmth Jun-Aug Seattle, Wa now I can drive when I want anytime I want which consist of minimum 2 hrs out 2 hrs back with each start up
Me & My TR6 Appreciate each other, near perfect match between Man & Machine, it likes my no budget, kids college fund, wife permission, fix/upgrade it now attitude to get whatever it wants/needs to run, in return I get to do what it likes & demands to be Driven when/where as often as I can, while I can

Certainly jealous of your weather,in England we just have to make do with what GOD sends us!
Used to go to the Triumph sports six club annual meeting pretty much every year when it was held in Staffordshire, that six cylinder engine is so tuneable, some of the engine mods were unreal!
Yes pretty sure that same six cylinder goes way back in the companies lineage.
I actually don't mind the TR7 but prefer it with a V8, completely different animal then!

Funny my Mom use to say the same thing but difficult to rely on someone else to capture footage in my style of filming, as though you're in your car riding along & believe me attempts have been made, had a friend in his TR250 follow/film me in my TR6 after short distance we stopped to see what the footage looked like, his response Man! I don't see how you do it? Drive & Film told him it's an art (driving solo/filming). Another instance had driver & passenger with camera follow me similar results both efforts appreciated.
