If it's the gig I went it was one of the worst I've been to. The sound was terrible because of the wind. None of the guest artists were introduced so if you were at the back you didn't have a clue what was going on. Left early hugely disappointed
It's strange watching this I'm waiting on Lou to come out and sing but unfortunately he's watching above hopefully, rest in peace man,it's good johns still around to play waiting on the man,👏👏👏😵😵😵✌✌✌👌👌🌈🌈🙌🙌🙌🙌😘😎😎😎
I had a ticket to this concert. But couldn't make it over to Liverpool in the end. I'm all booked for the New York concert in November. And I can't fuckin wait listening to this! Cale was always a pivotal VU member. it's going to be great to catch him on his 75th birthday weekend in the city that spawned the Velvets. And as everyone else said, this is superb sound quality. Thanks a mill.
I was at this concert and loved it.My phone just doesn't cut the mustard else I would have filmed it.The sound here,Nigel,is a lot better than a lot of other uploads of this.Had a fantastic night there. Thanks for the upload!
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 I will take your word for it. My son went to this performance. I brought him up on bands like The Velvet Underground. He is a musician, so more qualified than me to comment. He said it was mediocre. But of course, that's just an opinion. I think we can agree on the greatness of the individual and their contribution to popular culture as a whole.
@@carlwilson1772 yeh I make music too but nobody is more qualified to comment than another. You either enjoy it or you don't but I for one would have loved to have seen Cale.
you don't even know you're history, but idiots like yours are a regular commodity here on TH-cam these days. did you even know, that as for his musical career, he played in velvet underground for like 3 or 4 years only. But why would he learn to play music so damn well, if out of those 60 years you talk about, he actually did not even play any instruments himself during a majority of that time. Maybe some giggs here and then, aswell as the velvet reunion many years later. Then he continued with his other stuff like he always has, were he did not play anything really himself. Since he used to be a producer, "maybe one of the best recording artists out of the 1970's" he helped sevral legendary rock 'n' roll artists create thier most important albums. So if you can put the clues together, why would he be so good, if he only played like every ten years or so? It's not like velvet underground has continued since 1965. Have you even seen the documentary about him? do you know how many instruments he can play... well, dont even awnser because it's not like i care. I know a joke like you when i see it. And you are one big fucking joke,... flower boy. Go and learn to speak proper English, instead of talking garbage about people you don't even have tried reading about

6:35 - who is this woman person?
It's never complete without all tomorrows parties.
What fun.
Patti Smith reimagined..goodness knows.. good to hear the velvet songs again. Thank you Mr Cale
That wasn't Nico.. And that's not really The Velvet Underground.. John Cale is the only one there from the velvets
Yeah Cale influenced Byrne and way beyond
John Cale is a legend, the Velvet Underground almost unimaginably seminal. But this is just a bit rubbish.
no it isn't. it's great. i think you can't hear because of the wind.

This is all a sound issue …
@@vogueinferno He would know already
No need to apologise 🤔
If it was a Cale and Tucker reunion performance might be better than bad imitation of VU
Best part of this song is when it was over ,🤮🤮
Wow,that was shite!
😂😂😂😂😂
John, please don't make pulp fiction out of your glorious past.
Ahh .... No.
this is sad on so many levels.
Lol were you there then, I've seen the Velvets & I thought this was a great tribute 👍👍👍👍👍
In 60 years he didn't learn to play music.
