17:35 This is a perfect example of an answer to an unasked question: When Frieren found young Fern trying to hit the boulder across the gorge, Frieren mentioned it was hard to find her through her mana. The unasked question is **how or why did Fern hide her mana at such a young age?** When Frieren first met Heiter, he was confident Frieren had only one-fifth the mana he had. In this flashback, still during that party’s adventures, Heiter revealed his realization that Frieren was suppressing her mana and that it was important that she did so. - Heiter was the one who first taught Fern to suppress _her_ mana, before Frieren first met her. - This show does a lot of bricklaying in earlier episodes to build lore in later ones.

Pious means deeply religious. It's a person who very closely follows the morals and ethics of their religion.

18:08 He was talking about Fern... foreshadowing how he will adopt her. This scene told us that Heiter was teaching her mana suppression since saving her, that's why Frieren couldn't detect her in episode1 and why she is really good at it.

Do you know Fern was adopted at around 6 years old, and that was more than 20 years after Himmel died?

Frieren is "remembered" only because the stuff she did happened just 80 years ago. In a couple more hundred, not many people will know what happened back then in any real detail. If she can't relate to Kraft right now in this moment, it's only because of how recent things still are. Kraft probably did many incredible things in his life, maybe even bigger and better than Frieren and her party, but if they happened over 1000 years ago, no one has any idea any of it happened anymore, and eventually he's alone again.
These big events that they might be a part of only exist in human memory for a small window. For all the years before and after them, Kraft and Frieren can relate very much so. Frieren lived for at least 1000 years before she even met Himmel, not known or remembered by anyone.

Kraft calling Frieren young is insane. He must be OLD old

It has been hinted that he had been around since the Age of Mythology and he even knew how the Goddess of Creation looked like. From Episode 4 you can see Flamme mentioning she found the legendary or mythical place of Aureole where souls gather. When Frieren mentioned this to Kraft, he's not even surprised and he spoke of Aureole as if it was a widely known common sense common knowledge location and he also specifically called it Heaven.
Kraft is so ancient that even his myths and legends are lost in time. He might have been a hero in the past, but after thousands of years had passed, even his stories had been lost. Notice how Flamme was still referred to as a legendary or mythical ancient mage figure after 1000 years? You can't imagine how long Kraft had lived for even his legend and myth to not exist anymore. If we assume 2000 years is needed for legends and myths to die, then he had been alive for at least double the time Frieren had been alive. And double is just a generous minimum estimation. It could have been possibly triple or 10 times the amount of time.

I rly love how Japan use Animes for her heritage. In this episode is actual medicine-based knowledge if its about warming someone up with the own body.

One of my favorite small details in this episode: The first time we see them eating by the fire, only Fern and Kraft are praying. The second time Stark is too, but Frieren isn't. The final time all four are.

It is in this episode where we are shown how flawed Frieren's decision making can be! The Graf invited Frieren and party to stay with him for as long as she liked, but in late Fall with Winter coming on, she is uncharacteristically hasty and thoughtless! She takes Fern and Stark into the Schwer Mountains all the time telling them how dangerous this can be and is caught in an early Winter storm. Had they not found the cabin, they would have died. This reminds me of the Donner Party attempting to cross the Sierra-Nevadas in the dead of winter 1848

Frieren did mention something about elves lacking "romantic instinct". Maybe they just don't feel a need company?

Living thousand years, experiencing a human life a thousand times really does change your perspective in life,.
See how he's not that interested about the story of frieren's journey with the hero's party, but the things Before that,.. To his point of view the defeat of Demon King is just another significant point of history but a fraction of his life

pious means to be deeply religious and very dedicated to following that religion. you pronounce it by taking the words 'pie' and 'us' and putting them together, emphasizing the first syllable. PIE-us.

Apparently, elves tend to live in solitude. It's not supposed to be understood by the audience since we are humans. It's also probably related to the fact that elves lack romantic feelings and reproductive instincts, one of the consequences could be the tendency to solitude and lack of social behavior.

Monks are usually also either a scholar, a martial artist practitioner, or both. Otherwise, the term "priest" is used for ordained individuals in the same vocation.
