    I was always told back end needed to be higher than front to prevent grass from getting clogged up in it.

    To shred material into short pieces, set the rear of the deck a little lower than the front. To cut tall grass and get it out from under the deck (& use less power and fuel), set the front a little lower than the rear. To do a better job of picking up the previous pass wheel track, travel so the blades are travelling rearward on the side of the machine towards the mowed grass.
    Bush hog recommends setting the front slightly lower than the rear so that debris and larger objects are more likely discharged out the rear of the machine

    I see this is an older video but I couldn’t help questioning your Bush Hog adjustments front to back. Adjusting with the front of the cutter higher uses more HP thus more fuel. Think this one through. The blade as it rotates to the front of your Bush Hog cuts the grass then as the tractor and Bush Hog travel forwards the back part of your hog being lower cuts the same grass again. You’re forcing your tractor to cut front and back at the same time. Adjust the front 2” lower.

    Seems like you'd be able to find a metal tackle box(fishing), I think that would fit on the tractor for tools and such.

    Still watching you guys even thought they took away my other channel. I spent the last two days trying to prey the stump jumper off my brush hog. I finally got the bolts tightened enough underneath the stump jumper by using 2x4's to pry it up. It just wouldn't come up.

      Zachary Bauer My friend it ticks me off they took your channel away.The stump jumper is on a tappered shaft i had to use a wedge driven between the jumper and the frame on both sides to get this one off.We sure miss you guys on you tube like we lost part of our family.We left the network last week so we are on our own now.we are praying for yall have a Blessed day tell the family we said hey.

    Did you learn all about maintaining heavy equipment and gears etc., from your Daddy growing up? And, do you grease up all the nuts, bolts & moving parts like you did in Part 1? I'm dying to see this beast chewing up the overgrown bits of your property you want to clear, but I'm happy to wait until you're FULLY recovered before you start messing round with heavy equipment again.

    I just recently had to remove the stump jumper , blade holder on an old bush hog because unable to break nut loose with torque multiplier. the blade holder had a tapered shaft that I could not remove with heat and mauling. I I ended up grinding a slot to remove the tension so I could pull pan. I cannot find a tapered pan/blade holder for a Bush hog brand. After I replace the bottom seal in gear box I will weld up slot and install blade holder and see what happens???

    Why did you have to go get a neighbor to beat the the hell out of it with a hammer?

    • @DeepSouthHomestead
      @DeepSouthHomestead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Someone had previously drove the bolts in with a sledge hammer. My neck has a disc messed up so I can't swing a sledge hammer to do it myself.
