If you’re fascinated and have soldering skills, BYOC has a kit version you can make. And Chicago Stompsorks sells a clone version that’s prebuilt. Both sound a little different but very good
Hey! Enjoyed the vid like always. I’d love to see a teardown of any dirt pedal that uses gyrator circuits in the EQ. Like a DOD grunge or an HM-2. Or better yet an HM-3 because I think it transistorized the same eq circuit that’s in the HM-2.
Hey! I'v got a question for you. I have a different version of DOD 250 probably produced between 2000 and 2010. But the thing that bothers me when using the pedal is that there is no led on the pedal. Sometimes I have to check the pedal if it is working because I use BOSS SD with it. Do you happen to tell me how to connect led to the the pedal. Actually, I tried to do that with resistors several times, only to labor in vain. I don't have any clue about pcb but I'v discovered the difference between on and off on the side of output. I can make the led light up only when it's on but I don't have any sound. It's ok whent it in bypass, though. Can you tell me how I can handle it properly?
Easiest way is to change the footswitch, assuming your 250 has a DPDT switch. Changing that for a 3PDT will give you another pole to switch the LED on and off. Then a 2.2k-4.7k resistor to limit current, an LED of course, and use the footswitch to connect and disconnect ground.
Gorgeous circuit board
"He has the box" haha, thanks for another great video !!
Thank you!
Cool videos man i dont know why i like them but i do.
my infectious charisma obviously.
@@graybenchelec hi Joe. Do you have a business email address?

Great channel for us nerds!
I watched it even though I've already seen inside my own

Thank you! Noted.
Nice. It's a smidge older than me (born 17th week of 1981)

What brands other brands would you like to tear down pedals of?
D. All of the above. 😎
Please please do the DS1 evil pumpkin it would be awesome to see those modded guts
Second this one, if just to see how much ds1 is even in it at this point lol
do you have any on the dod fx86b or a picyure of the inside
I don't sorry!
@@graybenchelec it seems to be a well gaurded secret. I can't find one anywhere.
I dont this tl081 is a dual opamp, that pinout wouldnt work with this specific schematic.
TL081 is a single opamp, the 1" at the end is for single. TL082 is a dual opamp.
