Some things I’ve learnt as s player which i wish people made videos on:
    1. When playing a cut shot with back spin, the white tends to grip object ball more and straighten angle.
    2. When playing balls down Rail, if you play slower the ball cuts with more angle, if you play harder the ball plays with les angle
    3. When playing with side spin you have to aim further to the side to allow for deflection

Absolutely awesome tutorial packed with solid instruction. Will definitely watch and practice over and over and over ....
Thank you for sharing your time and extensive knowledge. I played pool back in my late teens but then life happens and you don’t have time for everything you used to. Was not really good. Hit and miss more or less with no instruction or mentor. I’m retired now and just started back playing. Your tutorials are now my mentor LOL!

A good fundamental lesson that so many amatuer plays are not aware of. They persist in thinking that a straight shot is their best shot not realizing there is little one can do to help position the cue ball for the next shot.

Good video. At 5:50, you played for speed to avoid the side pocket, but more recently, I've learned that on that shot, it's probably best to play the cue ball to the rail before the side pocket. I've scratched too often misjudging the speed on that shot. Add a little left spin, and it becomes a lot safer.

Great video again. I use these technique of positional play to make my run easy. keep up the good work. as for the Masconi cup, team Europe this year has an outstanding line up. I'm almost certain team USA will have to use all and everything they have from decision, teamwork and skills to beat them. it will be an exciting match to watch. good luck to both!.

This is a typical mistake made by former snooker players like myself. Because a snooker table is so much bigger and the pockets tighter there are not so many easy shots, so position needs to be better. But when I realised that on an American pool table with generous pockets you can make the pots from almost anywhere I realised the importance of leaving more, rather than less, angle. It took a while but it improved my pool game no end.

@5:45 you "have to be a little carefull because you're flirting with the side pocket"... but that same mentality could have been applied for a shot earlier in your video; the one at 1:20.. just requires a little finesse and control.. you make the shot at 1:20 harder.. by opting what you think is a better alternative. Just my 2 cents..

I have years of 8 ball games in bars while drinking behind me and I've rarely gambled for more than one free beer. I'm talking about pool buddies that share one or two tables. Nowdays I play sober and enjoy taking the unexpected harder shots so my drinking buddies get a turn to play. This video is very useful if I feel I must win the table back from a smug fat head so he packs up and goes home. I've got good stroke techniques and can really use these tips to avoid embarrassment.

Europe have consistently had the stronger team in the Mosconi Cup for the last decade, but I am still surprised by Europe's total dominance given the format. Theoretically, there should be a substantial luck element, and all the American players ought to be able to win if they get the rolls. Europe seem to have handled the pressure better owing, I think, to excellent team spirit lifting each other.
Europe are still favourites this year. However, an upset is possible, especially if the Americans arrive as a team in the right frame of mind.

However this doesn't change the fact that newbies are doing less angle because otherwise they will simply miss the pot and then all this position play is irrelevant. Potting accuracy completely dictates how well new players develop positional play.

Rajie Music This video is obviously not designed for complete beginners to start practicing right away. However, with that being said, it is important to expose them to this so that they learn positive habits when starting to rise in skill. Complete beginners should always start with fundamentals and ball pocketing, but after that, they need to start learning the basics of position play.
