Another great video my guy. You could build a Osgiliath/Gondor city pavement for lesser known minies like Beregond and armored Faramir. Those really go well together.
Or creepy ruins for barrow-wights (like Boromir's diorama, but grim)

Every great adventure starts in the Shire, would love to see you follow the fellowships journey with your scenery building. I can't wait to see some of Fangorn and Lothlorien even if they aren't playable boards and are purely dioramas.

Hopefully zorpazorp puts something out before that so I can "borrow" ideas from it, real terrain hobby's made one (zorp painted up the Hobbit's and ruffians) but I don't think I'll be able to recreate that board as it goes so tall, hope I can figure something out 😅

I think you have officially done it. You have started one of the most ambitious mesbg projects to date. And I am so here for it. Can't wait to see you tackle all manner of cool locations. I myself can't wait to see you tackle some dwarven and elven architecture. Gondor and Rohan are awesome, but there is just something so Tolkien about the others.

Great video as always!...hit like as soon as you said you were insane!! Seriously though, love all your terrain and really am excited for this mega project. For small dioramas, I think a Misty Mountain or Shire group would look great.

I've never seen a convincing Rivendell made by anyone, that would be awesome. But I guess it is not a combat location, so if not Rivendell, then maybe the gates of Mordor? And it goes without saying that a playable Helms deep or Isengard would be worthy locations. Thanks for doing all this absolutely mental stuff so we don't have to!

If you're building Amon Hen you should definitely include the River Anduin and the Argonath.

@@jackson1matt Ah it's realllllly good. MArtin Shaw is a wonderful voice actor and he's a huge tolkien fan so his pronunciation of all the names is PERFECT which is super refreshing as a bit of a linguistic purist.

I love your Gondor and Rohan and Shire builds, but I am forever an elf fan and I would love see you recreate Rivendell after a fashion. You would do it such justice!

All of this sounds AWESOME! Great work! And really curious to see your impressions of the Creality K1 Max: I'm using an Ender 5 (as I wanted to dip my toes into FDM printing), but wow the speed and pre-calibration sounds really good!
He wouldn't know. Watch the video. It's clear and obvious he doesn't actually have a K1/K1 Max in his possession.
I am not trying to take away from the skills and passion he clearly has. But with all the cuts of media videos of the K1/Max, plus the obviousness that it isn't actually him pulling off the one print of a tower that looks like it may have come from a K1/Max.
I'm not saying he's lied at all, because if you listen to the wording, he never actually says anything to confirm he's printing on a K1 max. This is a sponsored ad within a youtube video. I wish people would be more honest and disclose this kind of stuff. Still love the content, just don't be blinded by the fluff.

Crazy doesn't begin to describe it, but in terrain news, I saw the trailer for the new Gollum video game, and I'm going to need to add a tone of clump foliage, and lichen to my middle-earth terrain(the 3d printed giant trees, and palace) that I've done up.
There's a model Railway Museum in Colorado that a businessman spent his entire life building on the side which is a re-creation of a railway line at a certain Year that goes from one state to another delivering logs. And it's set up in a weaving twisting way back and forth on , up and up and up, even though the railway line itself is just a straight line so he could fit it inside the building. all the towns that were and would have been along the Route are there. What I'm suggesting is you need an aircraft hangar; and in 50 years time when they remade the movies another 10 times and crossed over with Marvel on Paramount Plus, and Games Workshop has been bought out by Hasbro and both have long gone under; one can take a handful of Miniatures, some dice, some Rule books, and go play some Lord of the Rings strategy battle games on your Recreation of Middle Earth
While I know it won’t be for quite some time, but it would be incredible to see you build an elven board! Something along the lines of the Grey Havens or Ost-in-Edthil. Keep up the great work Lachy!

in regards to the slow glue drying times during the NZ winter, I've found a dehumidifier to be an effective way to speed up terrain making at this time of year. (makes space in the air for the paint/glue to dry into or something?)
you don't have to be running it while you are working, just run it until the room feels suitably dry and then just every once and a while to maintain low humidity.
Obviously your mileage may vary, I live much further north than you and my hobby space was a room at the back of the garage rather than the garage itself.

I (and other people I hope) would love to see Erebor and Dale as a giant map, an idea that could arise is that you could do the build having two halves, one being of the past before the ruin of the two cities and another of the present after the events of the Hobbit and just before the destruction of the ring.
Ps Zorpazorp, hope you and whoever you hold dear are having a swell time all I wish to put in this note is that you do not need to have every minute detail put in so just have fun. Can't wait to see the end result of the whole of Middle Earth, however detailed with cities and towns (even if it is just the big main cities). Stay hydrated!

The mega board sounds amazing. The dock where Aragorn and the army of the dead arrive at the battle, is that a real dock in New Zealand? That'd be a cool resin build to attach to the side of the Minas Tirith battle board.
