I like the looks with the fenders cut off. I'm modding one of those myself. I believe you have to replace the chassis tub to change to the Supra or Corvette, all 3 have a different wheelbase. The tubs are fairly cheap from Traxxas though.

Yeah that’s true the hot rod uses a 278mm shaft and a 300mm wheelbase the stingray uses a 266mm shaft and a 288mm wheelbase the Supra has a 249mm shaft and a 272mm wheelbase thanks for sharing and good luck with your project

Not really a look thing after the fender cut off it will stop the rubbing on the body so the ties won't die an afew days... i saw videos of totally cut up tyres by just robbing on the body's edge.

I’m sorry guys I told you that the shocks were from the Latrax Teton. I was wrong. After looking into it again I found that the revo/slash 1/16 shock look to be a closer match I’m going to order a set and confirm that. I will let you guys know how it works out 😅

I do have some suggestions. They may be a bit long as the Traxxas factory 5 shocks are 45mm long 39mm hole to hole and the latrax teton shocks are said to be 66mm / 60mm hole to hole yeah racing has a 55mm/50mm hole to hole at amain hobbies and there’s one from proline for 1/24 crawlers that might work but they are 35mm hole to hole and as I’ve said the reviews are not the best it’s on Amazon amzn.to/4buoZDU also I have not checked out losi yet but that’s my next place to look I hope this helps and thanks for the support

Cool video with some good info. So, just curious, are these Hotrods ideal for drag racing beside each other? And, if so, what's the approximate top speed stock out of the box? Why did you cut the fenders? Tire rubbing? Did you locate any tires for it yet? Thank you for your time.

I don’t know the top speed out of the box because I pulled the electronics and sold them to go brushless . As far as drag racing you would need to lock the rear differential and get the proper tires as this car is more comfortable as a drifter and TSM is needed also for drag racing. I hope that helps you out

I forgot to say I cut the finders because the tires will balloon and rub at higher speeds speaking of which I’m going to speed test this car next video thanks for the suggestion👍

Am i missing something, with your fenders off, wouldn't you be able to pick larger tires and have more options?

Body rub is a factor because the an arms are not that long so you could have some turning issues as well but some extenders might work. I was looking at some 2.2 options but that body rub thing is a problem. Thanks for your input and your support 👍
