I rescued an abandoned baby from a grocery store parking lot. He's a rumpy who had a burned nose, clipped whiskers abd other signs of abuse but with a quick bath some food and a place to sleep he's slipped into my family flawlessly. Thus dubbed hopper.
I was SO lucky and was able to adopt two Manx littermates a couple years ago. One is a long tailed Cymric and one is a full-blown Rumpy Riser Manx. They're so unbelievably sweet. No litterbox, feeding, or hydration issues. Just a couple VERY vocal kitties. Also, vets (in Colorado at least) check for Manx Syndrome and clear them before adoption.
8:15 I currently have 3 manx ,I was so heart broken last year when my favorite manx went hunting he had brang me a poisonous snake in the house I did not know it was a bad snake thankfully I had shoes on and I stomped on it ,my son threw it in the woods but the next morning my cat died you never even knew he was bitten,he was a big boy 18lbs and only 11 months old
how cute! loved the video. mine is playful, a drama queen that harrumphs at me and walks away. she's selective about who she allows to see her or touch her. lol, sort of like me. I've had 4 Manx cats over my lifetime and adore them. my current Manx is a lavender tabby. a rumpy. when I got her, I got two because a friend of mine wanted one and asked me to pick one up for him and his wife. they couldn't have children and wanted a second cat. I picked the two tabbies because they were the cutest. I'm normally not a big tabby fan but these had beautiful markings. one long-haired, one short haired. I had them two days before my friends were able to come get their kitten. this was a good thing because if I hadn't had that time, i would've missed out on the love of my life. I named her Bitty lol. she was the smallest in the litter. her sister was much bigger and fluffier and quite frankly - prettier, because of her silver and black coloration. but during those two days, I watched them. bitty was always curious and into something. playing with the dogs, climbing into cabinets, sleeping in my dish drainer lol, and she just loved me. after two days they got the prettier kitten, who had a crooked riser btw, I hated that. her sister is now 9 pounds, bitty varies from 2.5 lbs. to 3 sometimes when she gets into the treats. I'm not making this up. my vet didn't believe me either lol, he refused to spay her because he said in the state of Arkansas, where I had just moved, they need to be 6 months old, she was 2.. she still looks like she's 2 or 3 months old. then a family member had a cat that died after being neutered, from a saddle embolism. yes, it was a male, yes it was a Russian blue, yes, the cat was older..... but I can't bear the thought of losing my little cricket cat. so, I put up with the yowling every six weeks or so. I'm terrified she'll get out and impregnated because she's so tiny. sorry for rambling on, any advice would be appreciated. I forgot to mention she had zero health issues other than a cat version of dwarfism.
My little man is 15 and unwell. Longterm IBD is getting the best of him. He is my 2nd manxx and I watched the video to remind myself why he and his "bro b4 him" are so special. Everything true.
I was wondering if that is common in this breed. My five year old black manx developed Jaundice & stomach issues three months ago. I am completely heartbroken after he was euthanized yesterday. He needed his gallbladder removed & it burst. It's difficult to find a Veterinarian that is willing or able do that surgery.
My manx cat is very shy around new people. She runs and hides in the basement when the doorbell rings. She’s affectionate once she knows you though. She is a very good mouser…once I woke up to two mice by my bedroom door.
Leo is a 14 lbs orange rumpy riser. I always wanted one and I luckily found the one that's perfect for me. I've had cats my whole life and he's definitely my favorite
I have an orange female who is 11. She is 16lbs. My vet isn't concerned as the breed is barrel shaped. She is very smart and talkative. Has 5 verbal commands down pat and does them well except when she is "being a cat...lol". The only cat I ever had that was affectionate as this Cymric Manx was a Burmese I had years ago.
My Manx, Luci Lou, is almost 2yrs old. Luci is black with a white star just below her neck and has many scattered white,, almost whisker like hairs scattered all over her and has the barest bit a bump where her tail would be. She has to know where I am at all times. She likes to jump on my shoulders at odd times and has freaked me out by jumping on me from on top of the open door when I walk past. Luci is terrified of strangers and hides until they are gone. She is the most vocal cat I've ever had and is by far the best hunter. Luci is so attached to me that she had her kittens right next to me under the covers on my bed just over a month ago. 2 out of 4 kittens are also Manx.
I rescued a little Manx female. She was the absolute cutest little thing ever. Her nub was maybe an inch and a half. She lived with me for about 16 years. Mandy Manx, still one of my favorite living things to this day.
We have a 1/2 Manx girl: stiff tail only a few inches, arch, disproportionate hind legs, etc. She’s our 5th cat, and is unique. She’s incredibly loyal and devoted, following me everywhere I go all day, can’t stand for me to disappear for more than 30 seconds. Runs *towards* any noise or commotion, super nosy, lol, wants to “help” with anything we’re doing. Sleeps against my head every night. Truly a lovable, loyal friend and companion, much like a dog as the video suggests :)
Bunny loves cuddles, especially if I am snuggled under a fluffy throw. She kneads bread then tucks her face into my arm and dozes off. She isn't demanding and I tend to pick her up and cuddle her then she will curl up and purr loudly. 😻
My Bobo is a rumpy and we grew up together! She's almost 13 and isn't jumping so high anymore because her back is getting sore, but she's still eating and playing as normal. She is extremely protective of me and very territorial; she does not like any animal who comes onto our property and has to check out anyone new who comes around. She can get nasty if she's trying to check you out and you ignore her (sneakily cuff your ankles, stealthily swat you, etc,.), but if she sniffs you and knows you're cool, she's a doll. Since I was a kid, everytime I am sad/crying she always hightails (or highstubs lol) it straight to me, so she can make sure that I am okay. She is the best kitty and she's made me fall in love with the breed.
Our Manx cat comes to the door when we come home--a behavior I had only seen in dogs before her. She's also extremely vocal, and loves to be held. If I let her, she'd stay in my arms for a half hour
My Manx (Rigby) is currently about 9 years old, but he doesn't look a day over 2. At the moment, he's shrimped up looking like an orange cream-cicle on the floor next to me because he refuses to leave my side. When my grandma asks me "When are you going to have kids?", I remind her that I have a Rigby so I'm more than content for now.
I’m my manx’s favorite person so she’s pretty affectionate with me and my family, she likes to bite our hair sometimes?? Don’t know if that’s like a breed thing or I just have a weird cat. Shes very playful and even likes belly rubs, but she usually doesn’t like meeting new people.
We have one she is ginger and white she was found on our back deck she was very friendly so we brought her in I called our vet and got her in right away, I said to our vet how could someone be so crul to cut her tail off he laughed and said she was born that way omg had no idea what she was she didn't have a chip he thought she was around 2 years old so we named her honeycomb she has adjusted well she is very smart we taught her to sit pretty for her temptation, we love her so much she sleeps cuddled right up to me most every night if not she likes to sleep right by my feet.
My little girl Trix is almost 4 years old, I got her when the pandemic started with an ex and they wanted to give her away to the humane society, needless to say they're an ex and I have her. Beautiful dilute calico and her suuuper big hazel eyes
We have an 18 month old rumpie tortie/manx named Bunny. We call her "Funny Bunny" because she loves to play with cat videos on TH-cam and looks funny when she does. She's totally devoted to her tortie sister Cleo. We rescued Bunny and Cleo when they were 3 weeks old. It's hard to imagine our house without Bunny.

Getting my Manx tomorrow! So super excited
I'm late to the party so your cat should be over a year by now. how do you like your manx?

Our adopted roundy is very vocal and very loyal. He follows me everywhere and loves to play. He is very stocky and strong. Love this cat!

Our Manx always goes up to company they can pick her right up and hold her she's very social.
My Manx is the sweetest most vocal cat I ever met! She has got some digestion issues however. Trying what I can to help her ❤️

Hey. Absolutely loooove Manx kitties. My first cat was a Manx. Haven't come across one in a looong time. Wonderful wonders. Beautiful kitties. Thanks
I own a black rumpy Manx named Pita. He is 15 and healthy. So loyal and affectionate
I rescued a little Manx female. She was the absolute cutest little thing ever. Her nub was maybe an inch and a half. She lived with me for about 16 years. Mandy Manx, still one of my favorite living things to this day.
My Manx, Kitsibu, would play hide & seek and fetch with me. She was very affectionate. Manx are very smart. They are indeed doglike, even protective!
