I met Matthew in Nashville in the early 80's. On the way into town from the airport, he noticed my guitar and we started talking about "songpluggin" I was there to present a tape of songwriters's songs to whomever would listen.. Matthew took me to his favorite places in Nashville and introduced me to lots of great songwriters, most notable was Don Robertson.. Matthew was a great connection and I am so glad I met him and have that experience in my life..
What a national treasure you are, Matthew. You have made Singaporeans proud and put them on the map. Your accolades are never mentioned but have won you recognition on the international stage. You have immersed yourself in the rich tapestry of Singaporean folklore.
Swell seeing that Matthew is still singing. He's older now than when I enjoyed his warm charming style in the 80s when I was a "cowboy engineer" working in Singapore far from my home; I guess I must be older, too. Like good wine, he just gets better. Best wishes.
I remember those times in the 80's at the Shangri-la hotel. The best hang out for the American expats. And yes their version of Ghostriders was the best, along with many other songs.

Great song , we are so proud of Matthew
Bought this guy a beer a couple of times in the Shangri-la hotel when they were the resident band in 1980. Their version of Ghostriders was the best.
U are marvellous ❤
