  • She didn't even spend ten minutes on the stage, but somehow Liz Truss managed to make things worse for herself after booting Kwasi Kwarteng out of Number 11.

I really wonder what her father,a left wing,Lib Dem,remainer is thinking watching his daughter, who was a left wing,Lib Dem,remainer, destroy her career and the country’s economy? Hardline right wing Tories, must be thinking,if they’re suffering with paranoia, that Truss is a plant, who’s aim is to destroy the Conservative party, because that’s what she’s doing. There’s talk that front and back bench Tories want her out,and she could be gone in the next few weeks.Kwarteng must be the biggest mug around. To be made a public fall guy like this must be completely embarrassing. As soon as the mini budget failed, and the shit hit the fan,Truss was always going to blame Kwarteng. She’s as power mad as Boris Johnson was,and will have to be forced out of office, because she’s not going to quit.To bring in Jeremy Hunt, who was a total failure as Health Secretary, and give him the job of Chancellor, smacks of absolute desperation. And there are STILL people around who think the Tories are doing a good job!😿

At the very least we need to start issuing bans from politics for those who are established to have done material harm to the country through their policies.

If you want growth you need to invest in people, communities, healthcare, small businesses and grassroots innovation. Stop leaving the majority of people in the dirt and paying so much to these companies who don’t pay tax and don’t drive investment let alone growth. Let's be clear: there are no real repercussions of this damaging economic policy on anyone in the government, even the former Chancellor. One MP has had his responsibilities (and a few perks associated with them) removed and given to another MP. That's it. But he's still getting paid just to be an MP and I'm sure though his political career is looking shorter, his non-exec portfolio career will flourish. And everyone else in the cabinet with collective responsibility is completely unaffected. That is not accountability. It's a shallow 'sacrifice' to limit the collateral damage. It's obvious, shameful, and it does nothing to repair the real damage done to the people of this country.
