In actual fact we use Debit Cards far more than credit cards that interest charges.
Debit Cards are very easy to use with instant results.
I'll be worried if cash disappears, we really need the cash option, it would become chaotic in a cashless society. A supermarket employee told me ( I'm from Perth, western Australia) the system went down for cashless transactions for an hour or more and people were panicking since they couldn't pay for their groceries, unless they had cash.
She's from the tropics, so Sydney doesn't feel too humid to her. But if you aren't used to humidity, Sydney summers can be quite sweaty. Sydney is a reasonably large city, and weather conditions can be quite different between the coastal suburbs and the inland suburbs. Also, public transport varies a lot, depending on where you are and where you want to go. In the bigger cities, it's generally good. In more rural areas, you will probably struggle without a car. There are apps available that will help you decide on the best mode of transport for your journey.
You also have free gas-fired BBQs at the beach and parks etc you just rock up, fire up, cook, and then CLEAN UP before leaving.
In New Zealand we did away with using Cheques (Not "Check". Note the correct spelling of this Financial Instrument also commonly referred to as a Promissory Note). The Banking system is so much better, faster etc than writing cheques, waiting for clearance etc) EVERYONE needs to have a Bank Account and all the Banks are linked in "real time".
Cash is king, use it whenever you can

i cant remeber the last time i used cash. even driving across the nullarbor, we took cash, never needed it

Well there's a difference between digital money from electronic fund transfer....."eft" still need to be a cash (hence why one can withdraw cash whether from bank machine or cashier retailer bank link service (cash out), with cash in the bank and not physically with you, as the cash have an equal backing real value.... whereas digital cash is a cloud sim texas holdem madeup money with no value but rating of whatever bankers feel like.....
The weather at the moment is nasty, cold, wet and windy here in south east Queensland. It was raining earlier and the temp was 9C ( 48F) when I got this morning. It's now 16C (61F) and the sun is trying to come out but it's pretty windy. We've had a big blast of polar air come up from Antarctica coupled with a stalled high pressure system bringing lots of rain and cold. last week it was sunny and pleasant 24C (75F) although with the clear nights it got down to 6C ( 42F) at night.
Zero when I left for work at 630am . Top of 14 in Ballarat midday. 😂
It’s winter in Australia so of course it’s going to be colder than spring & autumn, I don’t understand why people are surprised, what do you expect? Plus compared to the U.S, Europe, Canada and many other countries Australian winters are very mild.
Yes, she misunderstands Credit Cards. Mostly we use Debit cards. These are linked directly to our Bank Accounts and avoid the high costs incurred by credit card use.
I use cash as much as I can. Cards rely on an internet that never fails. Our area was off the internet for 3 days. No cash, no goods
I keep hearing about shops closing? Many bigger stores do not.
You are mistaking EFPOS card payments for credit cards. EFPOS is where you tap you're card and it comes straight out of your bank account.
inner city sydney transportation in fantastic, but sydney obviously is the most developed part of aus, rest of country except maybe melbourne probably not as good. I know personally that adelaide buses are terrible unless you actually have a bus time table, which is something I can't usually be bothered with. haha, if she thinks sydney has no humidity during summer I don't want to know how humid the Philippines must be, south australia where I'm from originally has 40-45 degrees Celsius weeks, but no humidity so you can sit under a tree or something and it's ok
Even in Sydney life could be pretty narrow and limited if you don't have a car, particularly on weekends and evenings.
Point number 3 is almost 100% false. In the country all our restaurants are open till between 9 and 11pm, some dont open on mondays as a day off, on the other hand the nearest maccas is an hours drive away for us , thank god. In the cities you can find a restaurant to eat anytime. In the country shops usually close about 5 , in the cities there is late night shopping which stays open till 9 but, city or country, shops will only stay open late when its financially prudent to do so
Why not concentrate on the important. When cash is gone the government has a free option to increase GST at will, to remove it automatically from you account. They will be abl 7:00 e to tax money going to your account, money going out of your account, interest ( what interest yes i know) and any thing else they can think up.
Probably not the best to compare the two countries.
I think Melbourne public transport sounds like they could ask the Philippines for help to improve this crap. Melbourne public transport is SHIT!
Melbourne pt is great compared to Brisbane and plenty of other places.
@@gusdrivinginaustralia6168 well then the whole western suburbs must be pretty close to Brissy. In the last ten years I've caught more railway replacement buses than trains. I love across the road from the train station for convenience. Bullshit.
We had a train derail and after two hours with no one coming we forced the doors open and a few of us helped everyone down. The cops and metro were standing half a km away with their thumbs in arses. Said "you should have stayed, the train is still live". Thanks for the heads up. I can walk outside and look right now and I guarantee that fuckin train won't be running!!!!!!
@@kevo6190 obviously the replacement buses are for the track work and upgrades the whole network is getting over those exact years.
And you clearly misheard the video when she was saying" it's better than the Philippines " when you thought Melbourne could ask them.

SYDNEY is not AUSTRALIA, it is a pile of concrete and bitumen. So DON'T speak for all of us Ozzies and our country. Get out into the rural remote areas and you will have different opinion.
