  • Have you ever wanted to make an epoxy desk, or a "bar top pour?" This episode is Part 2 of how to make an epoxy chart table. This is the second experiment using West System 207 Special Hardner, an ultra-clear water like epoxy hardner. I discuss some lessons learned and walk through making an epoxy chart table step-by-step.
Welcome to my boat building channel! This is my trawler restoration of an Albin 27 pocket trawler. Every couple of weeks I post a boat building or boat repair video to document various boat projects, sailboat restorations, or boat repairs.

Ikea+door=table and the roller food tray are great tips. It's the kind of added value advice that makes this channel unique. Totally awesome.

Thanks for the great video. I am doing a very similar process with aeronautical charts

Despite the issues you ran into, it still came out great. I'm planning to do something similar to the dinette table in our 34 ft cruiser. It's currently mauve-colored laminate (c. 1990) so charts will look a lot better I hope!

I think that will look great 👍 I’m excited to try again on my final project. I really think all my problem could have been solved in the end by using more export for a deep bar our. Thanks again for your support 😀

Very cool project. I see Part 3 just came out, so I'll get to that right away.
But I gotta ask... This project definitely could have waited until the boat was done. Aren't you itching to stick a motor in this thing and get it out on the water? You're very patient!

Good question. There are projects where new skills have to be learned so these may start well before an actual boat project of name gets going. Skills build upon skills and inform other job solutions. So it seems out of place but in reality it’s just another in long list that had to get done. When you accept that this is not a race but a long marathon that ends at a destination you realize the build order is more of a journey, small victories and building momentum. At the time it was unclear the mounting method of the table base and what grinding or fabrication would be required because of its positioning. Of course the motor will always be the LAST thing to go in the boat.
