My wife has really bad VR sickness whenever she gets convinced to put on a VR headset for more than 5 minutes. I'm really glad this is coming out so I can finally share my walkabout time (which is A LOT) with her. Going to buy it for her tomorrow, hope she likes it.
So long as you, on VR, with all your DLC creates the room, anyone who joins gets access to the courses you choose to play on that you own. Didn’t you know this bud?
It's fun the comments you get. But I have to agree with you. I bought the courses on my quest on my gf quest and in pc. That's 3 times all the courses paid I'm not gonna pay again
I agree in principle, but with Steam/Meta and iOS shops being completely separate, I don't think Mighty Coconut had any other choice. It would be nice is all these platforms played nice, but that is unfortunately not the case.
Looks amazing! I would also love to see the "Grip to putt" feature be a toggle button as an option. So you could choose to hold the button like the normal VR grip button, or have the option to use it as an on/off button. Because I'd like to see the full screen and it'd also be a bit more comfortable. Or maybe they could leave it as is, but if you double tapped the grip button on the screen it could act as a toggle as well. Sort of how Minecraft does sprinting, where you double tap forward (or W on PC) to sprint.
I enjoyed testing this for the past week or so. They did a really good job of bringing the VR game to a mobile platform. Though I typically don't play mobile games, I did add this to my phone.
Great vid 😘 as it wasn't mentioned to add that as well as hidden balls to unlock there are also putters to unlock by solving clues in the hard mode of each course
Nice! I won't leave my Vr for the phone but I can truly see the same quality of product you guys have put into this! I never play mobile games but if I decide to pick one, I know it will be this one! :) Keep up the good work and I cannot wait to a successor with the new power of vr nowadays! ;)
Looks pretty cool. I will give it a shot once it's released for Android. I do wonder how many people who are brand new to the game will get into the mobile version, compared to people who have already experienced it in VR.
I was thinking the same thing. It'd be SO WEIRD/COOL to experience these levels on a tiny phone screen and then go to VR second. That'd be really sick!
The mobile market must be huge, compared to VR? I would think there will be more mobile players, as games like this are very popular. Hopefully, it will make more people want to try VR.
@@sharpvidtube Walkabout is my favorite VR game. But there are only so many VR games to choose from. There are countless mobile games, including tons of golf games. I know people who played Walkabout VR would give the mobile version a chance, I'm just looking forward to seeing how many brand new players get into it on the mobile side first, when a lot of the appeal to me was just how awesome it is in VR. For example, Clash Golf is a mobile golf game I've played. I haven't played it in years but it was very polished many years ago. As Walkabout VR fans it's easy to assume everyone else will love it on mobile, but we don't really know.
@@sharpvidtube Just to put it into perspective, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan battle had billion dollars of profits for multiple years. And that's just one game that's basically just tied to Dragon Ball fans. Which is a massive fanbase but still, it's a game that only previous fans will check out. So if this takes off, it could potentially be a HUGE success. And honestly could be far more successful than even the VR version. Anything to keep funding more levels is good with me! It's almost the only VR game I play nowadays. Just so fun
I don't usually like playing on a phone, but it looks a bit more fun when you can swing the phone. I wish they could do that for pool and snooker. I'd love a VR pool or snooker game, with a tracked cue, not one that locks in. That's something currently missing in VR, good tracking of actual sports equipment, table tennis bats, tennis rackets, golf clubs, cricket bats, cues etc. Having to buy an accessory for all of them, gets expensive and isn't as good as using the real thing.
I've played a few pool games in VR and always felt the lack of a table to lean on was more damning for immersion than anything else. A fake pool cue would help but that doesn't seem to be the biggest problem to me. Maybe with access to the cameras, someone could make it to your perspective in VR adjusts to your dining room table IRL to make it so you can play on taller and differently proportioned tables.
@craigbeeson1777 loved it, and I really enjoy a course that is temptingly simple, yet still a challenge to execute consistently, and 80 Days probably does that best
The "Touch to putt" mechanic looks way too easy.🤨 As a VR player i wouldn't like to play against a Pocket version player in multiplayer, because i see a big advantage with "Touch to putt" to do straight and well-dosed putts.
@@MrWrestling2 Yes it's cross play with VR and mobile players. And no option to turn off cross play. Although most of the people who beta tested the game said they get better scores in VR than with touch controls
They did say a future update will allow vr players to only play with other vr players. But keep in mind, this was largely released as a way for people to have friends and family join them who don’t have vr.
Very sorry that’s frustrating for you. So you know, most platforms explicitly don't allow us to make DLC purchases convey to other platforms-plus we have no feasible way of doing it regardless. However, our Guest Pass system works even across platforms so you can share DLCs that way.
Luckily the maps are a lot cheaper. I wish my Meta purchases went to Steam for PCVR but unfortunately I have to use AirLink because I got them on the Meta store lol. But it has standalone which the Steam version doesn't, so at least there's that.
For crossplay you don't right? Maps I bought on PSVR2 can be played (together) with iOS and the other way around maps bought on iOS can be played on PSVR2 jointly?
I've already bought the game and all dlc on both psvr2 and quest 3 for the wife and I to play. No chance I'll be forking out for a 3rd version. This mobile app and the avatars are nothing but money grabbing mechanisms imo, and at the very, very least, mobile players should be nowhere near the vr crowd. Sigh, I hope this isn't the start of a very slippery slope.
Well shoot... I was really hoping that it would be able to sync your progress with your VR account. Ive bought every DLC and ive collected every single ball... Having to double down on the same content kind of sucks.
That’s how DLC content has always worked. It’s not that expensive and there is still no microtransaction garbage or ads so don’t hate on the devs for wanting to be fairly compensated for their hard work.
You never own what you purchase, only a limited license, if you read almost all T&Cs now. You can still play as a multi-player if just one of the players owns it. It would be nice if they had an account connection you could use between platforms, which then would unlock all features. You could then spend more time on the phone looking for lost balls or treasure hunts. The initial low cost price is good value, compared to say a full price title which includes all features. It would of been nice if they created an all level bundle deal (one off payment)
It's a completely different platform. If I had a game on Xbox and then bought it again on PC, I wouldn't expect to be able to carry over anything either (outside of things like MMOs maybe). Plus, I'm sure if you had a choice you'd just keep playing in VR anyway right?
That's a day-1 purchase for me as soon as it's available on Android!

Bummed that I have to wait for the android version. 🙃
dang....idk about buying all the maps again when I already pay the VR version everyday
There 2 bucks you pay 3 times that for a burger
Dumb logic. Totally different platform. Different game.

Can my friends play courses they don’t have if I do and invite them to play that course?
I read on the Mighty Coconut info that Guest Pass will work for those who don't own a specific course (yet)
Yes you can

Will you do an updated course rankings in January to go over the 2024 DLCs?

What about Us "BETA Testers", any discount..? 🤔

I dont pay 6bucks for a game, and 2 more for every Map separately. Do 10 for the Full Game and every one is happy
The quality is deserving of the price. But hey, you can just pay $5 for the game and then play the other courses with people who own them.
