I'm with Verizon, and when I've been throttled down I can do web stuff just fine, even stream audio, just can't stream video. I have NO complaints. I love Verizon!
Very awesome. Earned my sub. I've been a Verizon prepaid customer for 8 years and I love it. Only draw back for me I would say would have to be the outdated phones usually available.
FYI, just so you'll know, it's called an IVR. Don't call it an automated answering system. You can google it for more information on IVR. Keep up the good work.
Don't buy the SIM kit online. I ordered it and I had to call customer support only for them to tell me that it was canceled on its own and I had to go to a retail store to purchase one. They also told me that if I did order another one it would most likely cancel itself again.
I currently have MetroPCS but I can’t sign up for the iPhone upgrade program. But I heard if I get a Verizon pre paid plan I can sign up for the iPhone upgrade program. True?
Stetson Doggett would you go with mint sim or Verizon Prepaid? was paying 92 a month with T mobile didn't have horrible service but it didn't work everywhere. mint sim for 45 bucks for 3 months or verizon for 50 each month
I personally would go with Mint SIM. Half the price, the same amount of data or more. I've also had reasonable T-Mobile coverage where I live. I'd at least try them out.
looking into buying a phone. verizon has a deal where its 159 for an iphone SE plus 50 for the first month total 209 without an activation fee. or i was thinking a V20 Used(189.99) with mint sim(45) . only issue is if i order a tmobile V20 id be stuck to mint sim if it doesn't work out well. i also have the option of ordering the V20 for verizon if i wanted to use that on their prepaid. Used to use an iphone 7 plus on tmobile and used to about a year ago have an LG V20 on cricket(not bad service but capped data speeds) thank you for the help in advance! great videos quality content!
Question. Since this is a prepaid service and you have to pay full price for which ever device you choose. Are you free from contact, like can you cancel the service at any time?
Update, 5 months now, wifi calling issues have been fixed. I'm enjoying my prepaid Verizon wireless plan. I haven't noticed a difference in network quality or call quality compared with Verizon post paid. I have 7gbs of date for 50.00 plus state taxes. You also get rollover data.
great video thanks for the tips. Sounds like a good plan. I'm on my parents plan now that is 1000min 1000 texts and unlimited data for 70/month. it's good but I'm finding it need unlimited text. Any suggestions about going on my own with Verizon?
If you need Verizon coverage, I suggest Verizon's $50 prepaid plan w/ 5GB of LTE data, Total Wireless's $35 plan w/ 5GB of LTE data (but capped at 5Mbps down and 2Mbps up), or Boom Mobile's $30 plan w/ 2GB of LTE data.
What's the T-Mobile $30 unlimited talk/text plan with 5gb of data you mentioned when you were comparing plans??? It's not the Walmart plan is it?? The $30 T-Mobile plan only has 100 mins of talk and then unlimited text and 5gb of data. The $50 dollar prepaid plan from T-Mobile plan is what has unlimited talk/text and 5gb of data. If There is a new plan please let me know because I'm in between this prepaid Verizon plan and the Walmart exclusive T-Mobile $30 plan.
Sorry! My mistake! I meant T-Mobile's $30/month plan with 100 minutes, unlimited text, and 5GB of LTE data. My fingers just get in the habit of typing "unlimited talk" because so many plans have it. There is no new plan you're missing out on. My apologies.
Could you do a review on H2O? I'm planning to go on H2O and my mother is actually planning on taking Verizon's promo and switching from ATT to Verizon.
You pay for the service monthly. You pay for the first month, and then you get 30 days of service. If after the 30 days you decide not to pay, your service will be temporarily suspended. You can re-activate your service by paying again. So my understanding is your billing cycle will start when you make payment.
I'm unable to watch the video Stetson! Always like your videos! Excellent quality content! Mark in Iowa. This one just errors out and won't play. Mark.
Stetson Doggett I tried watching it about an hour later Stetson. It played fine then! I had excellent 4G service at home so I knew it wasn't wireless internet connection trouble. No worries Stetson! You're still 110%!!! Merry Christmas from America's Heartland! Mark.
Go to walmart and get 6GB of data for $35 a month. Add about $150 and you can get an iPhone SE too. The data is run from Verizon cell towers and the data speed is uncapped.
Wifi calling issue needs to be fixed. I've missed calls. It does work when it's correct. I talked with them a third time to get help with Wifi calling. My friends have said they called me the other day and my call went right to voicemail when I was at home on wifi calling. The HD Calling is nice!
I have Verizon and I also couldn’t get WiFi calling to work. Out where my grandma lives in a very rural area I can only get one bar of service and the voice quality isn’t great, so I called customer service and they told me you have to turn on airplane mode and turn off your cellular data and then activate WiFi calling.
I'm not seeing anyone mention that the final price can be much higher. I'm pricing out the 8Gb plan for 2 smart phones and it's $55 after tax + $80 worth of line access fees. So instead of $55 it's $135.30!!
+chevyhighrider The line access charge is only for The Verizon Plan. You don't pay a line access charge if you sign up for Verizon Prepaid! That's why Prepaid is a much better deal.
I had Boost which runs on Sprint and they were good for me when I lived in NJ before I moved to Florida and when I got to my new home in Florida, no service on Boost/Sprint. I switched back to Verizon as a result since its rural. I may get one to three bars on my phone out of like 5 or 6 on my regular Black Onyx S7, but I can at least still use my phone.
my husband and I left Verizon too expensive unable to get services around we live. customer representative always pressure us into buy things we did not want. the company we are at now simply straight foward no hidden fees great customer service. i pay $70 a month unlimited talking texting unlimited data. no taxes. have better services now
😒 I had to leave Cricket unlimited for Verizon 10gb plan. ATT/Cricket doesn't work on my block of the neighborhood. I miss Cricket though because it was cheaper and I got excellent coverage. With cricket, I went hiking out in the desert of Phoenix and still got 4g coverage.
badboysilva , I will give it a shot in a couple days to see and I will report back to this comment. I will hike the same trail (Peralta Trail) to compare the difference.
Yes, thank you Elizabeth. I get a bonus gigabyte every month with Verizon because I bought the sim kit from Walmart. Just go to your local Walmart and you’ll see where all the plans come with an extra one gigabyte.
wow that is a amazing plan however I wish unlimited data was available with Verizon. I seriously can't believe how good this prepaid option is though . I will still never use prepaid ever again though I want to be given all the best network features. most prepaid carriers screw you one way or another.
blackfear1562 I used to have Verizon wireless post paid for many years. I got tired of being ripped off. Now, I'm on Verizon prepaid with the same 50.00 plan. The same features, just no roaming. Their is only a 10% difference in coverage between the two. You can check out their roaming map between regular Verizon and prepaid. I'm happy I switched. Hd calling, wifi calling, the data isn't throttle, visual voicemail, and every other features you get with normal Verizon wireless post paid.
Stetson Doggett Does Total Wireless support mobile hotspot on an iPhone? I know that it probably caps the download speeds to 5mbps but $35 a month for 5GB of data and $60 a month on a share plan with 8 GB of data is a great deal! We currently have two phones on straight talk-Verizon and pay about $90 per month. 8GB of data would be plenty for both of us.
This is a bogus plan. I have a galaxy s8+ and I can't use verizon prepaid... even thought when I did the IMEI check for my phone on THE verizon website and it said YES i CAN use my phone on Verizon's network. So I go to walmart buy a sim card and a 50 dollar card and.... nope not compatible. Screw verizon
The problem is that there are areas of the country that don't give you Sprint coverage through Boost and as a result, Boost would be useless like it is in my area. Verizon and AT&T are the ones that work and maybe T-Mobile in my area. I had to leave Boost as a result of bad coverage for Verizon.
I read in prepaid phone news that if you get the sim kit from Walmart you can get the $50 plan with 7GB.
Oh snap, really? Can you link me to the article? I'll have to look into this!
yes its true. 7gb and 12 gb.
www.prepaidphonenews.com/2016/11/verizon-walmart-exclusive-prepaid-plans.html
Sweet! Thanks so much for the info!

Go to Walmart and get additional 2 gb of data, total 7gb for $50.00.
Jim Mast I have iPhone 6 from Verizon it can work on it?
geo geoo even if it's not a Walmart phone, just call CS for enrolling on the bonus data. my friend told me this
Key | iamSmexx really? what would you say to be switched to this exactly? thanks!
Jim Mast it's 9 gigs now! Not advertised but if you contact support they'll upgrade your plan.
Talking to broken English customer service, and dealing with asurion insurance scam turned me away after 7 years of S.T. service....less.
can you include the link for your wallpaper ? & this video makes me wanna choose T-mobile for my AT&T iPhone 5s
I'm with Verizon, and when I've been throttled down I can do web stuff just fine, even stream audio, just can't stream video. I have NO complaints. I love Verizon!
Very awesome. Earned my sub. I've been a Verizon prepaid customer for 8 years and I love it. Only draw back for me I would say would have to be the outdated phones usually available.
would you recommend prepaid for two lines??
I really appreciate the in-depth review/testing of this plan. I hope you do similar reviews with other plans too!
Glad you found the video useful! I certainly plan to continue reviewing cell phone plans.
Thank you for taking the time to post this video and the reddit article. Very Helpful.
If you dont care about the my verizon app or the text thing, what is the benefit of Verizon over Total Wireless? Its the exact same towers.
So if they throttle you can Pandora still work relatively ok?
is the data capped? have you done a speed test?
FYI, just so you'll know, it's called an IVR. Don't call it an automated answering system. You can google it for more information on IVR. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the tip!

Yikes, sorry to hear about your poor experience! Yeah, maybe going to a Verizon reseller is best.
im on verizon and its crazy what im paying per month, im gonna switch over to their prepaid plan, will my galaxy s7 work on prepaid?
I currently have MetroPCS but I can’t sign up for the iPhone upgrade program. But I heard if I get a Verizon pre paid plan I can sign up for the iPhone upgrade program. True?
how the carry over data part works? do it carry over all your unused data
Still good ping on 128k, can still play runescape, doesn't use much speed just need good ping.
Stetson Doggett would you go with mint sim or Verizon Prepaid? was paying 92 a month with T mobile didn't have horrible service but it didn't work everywhere. mint sim for 45 bucks for 3 months or verizon for 50 each month

There's no VoLTE on Sprint at all ! Well on my iPhone 6S 😭😩
wow !! 😭😡😩 thanks ! found that out after I locked myself in with a 2yr contract! I knew I should've stayed with AT&T
Alexis Guerrero Verizon has it!
Is the best video for prepaid information ...Thanks
Question. Since this is a prepaid service and you have to pay full price for which ever device you choose. Are you free from contact, like can you cancel the service at any time?
silva9207 yes
Yup
Where can I find the wallpaper in the intro?
Update, 5 months now, wifi calling issues have been fixed. I'm enjoying my prepaid Verizon wireless plan. I haven't noticed a difference in network quality or call quality compared with Verizon post paid. I have 7gbs of date for 50.00 plus state taxes. You also get rollover data.
At my house I get about 26 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up on my Verizon S7 Edge.(nonprepaid)
great video thanks for the tips.
Great Video! Total Wireless is awesome, also subscribed.
What's the difference between the $45/month plan and the $50/month one on Verizon??
Hi
What's the T-Mobile $30 unlimited talk/text plan with 5gb of data you mentioned when you were comparing plans??? It's not the Walmart plan is it?? Stetson Doggett its fine 😊 we all make them.
Could you do a review on H2O? I'm planning to go on H2O and my mother is actually planning on taking Verizon's promo and switching from ATT to Verizon.
H2O is on my list!
xSava I had h2o and I had no problems other than customer service their customer service is terrible h2o coverage is exactly like att.
Can I take my current iphone6s on my Verizon plan and take it to a prepaid plan once my contract is up ?
Yes! In fact, you may not even be on a contract. It may be possible for you switch to a prepaid carrier and start saving sooner.
Stetson Doggett thanks man I appreciate the help
So if I don't pay for a week to save money. Do I lose that week? Or will the cycle restart when I pay again
Mark.

Mark Smith Thanks, Mark!
Stetson Doggett You're welcome Stetson!
why does the kit say it includes a 45 card when the plans are 50 and 70?
does the kit come with a 45 or 50 card.
8GB as of today?
does verizon prepaid has taxes in california or already included?
Sorry Skyethur, I'm unsure of this.
Go to walmart and get 6GB of data for $35 a month. Add about $150 and you can get an iPhone SE too. The data is run from Verizon cell towers and the data speed is uncapped.
@ 0:58 I thought tmobiles $30 prepaid plan was only about 100 minutes of talk time?? is this your mistake or is there a plan really like that?
This is my mistake. I meant T-Mobile's $30/month plan with 100 minutes, unlimited texts, and 5GB of LTE data. Good catch!
I've been tmoble for a few years now and I've never heard of a $30 5gb lte plan
Wifi calling issue needs to be fixed. I've missed calls. It does work when it's correct. I talked with them a third time to get help with Wifi calling. My friends have said they called me the other day and my call went right to voicemail when I was at home on wifi calling. The HD Calling is nice!

elizabeth brown just wondering, did you get your WiFi calling to work?
I went to my local Verizon store and he said tax is added to every month for the $50 prepaid plan, is this true?
Joseph Rappe that for all they plans no Matter the cost of it
Thank you for the detailed review! Very helpful.
+Stetson Doggett you should go with the $65/month Unlimited Data plan
I'm not seeing anyone mention that the final price can be much higher. I'm pricing out the 8Gb plan for 2 smart phones and it's $55 after tax + $80 worth of line access fees. So instead of $55 it's $135.30!!

what T-Mobile plan is 5GB of data and unlimited talk and text for $30?
It's their $30 prepaid plan! Here's how to sign up: th-cam.com/video/9Lja2gynnik/w-d-xo.html
Stetson Doggett ahhh it's not unlimited talk that's what confused me.
HeyItsAsmus Yes, my apologies. I accidentally put "unlimited talk" instead of "100 minutes" in the chart I did.
Metro pcs just updated their plans today 50 unlimited everything
Good to know! Sounds like a really good plan.
But not everyone lives in an area that has good T-Mobile coverage.
I live in NJ and have Verizon, speeds are INTENSE.
oh shoot waddup
Problem while playing ?
Have you tried again? It appears to be playing fine for me.
yeah it's fixed. thanks !!
What do you think about Verizon Protect Plan?
Great review & info...as usual
Walmart still has the extra 2 gb plan going on! just got mine today great deal!
with verizon i pay 36.25 per unlimited line a total of 4 lines. 40 dollars a line plus military discount. pre paid is not ideal for me
Great video. Subscribed.
I love the $70.00 plan 10 gigs.
sprint is pathetic, att disappoint and use t mobile too.
I had Boost which runs on Sprint and they were good for me when I lived in NJ before I moved to Florida and when I got to my new home in Florida, no service on Boost/Sprint. Straight Talk 10 gigs for $55
Rastafari Jah . It depends which network straight talk uses.
Mr. Carroll Ware plus 2 Gb if you enroll to it cia CS
Review h20 wireless new plans
. Hitman Yes I would love if he did that!
You can also get a free Verizon SIM from the Apple Store.
How?
True! I just got a free T-Mobile SIM from the Apple Store.
Excellent review stetson!
Thank you!
Review AT&T go phone plan next
I've gotten a lot of GoPhone requests, so I'll look into them!
I like hamburgers
Btw crickets 45 dollar plan is 8 gb of data
But, no hotspot, no carryover data, capped speeds(8 up, 1 down) and VZ has better coverage.
Jaythekiirby BITCH WHAAAAA
my husband and I left Verizon too expensive unable to get services around we live. customer representative always pressure us into buy things we did not want. the company we are at now simply straight foward no hidden fees great customer service. i pay $70 a month unlimited talking texting unlimited data. no taxes. have better services now

How was the hike?!
I moved to post-paid from pre-paid. I was paying $76 now I am paying $86
Keep up the good work on the videos.
Thank you!
I use their 40$ plan which comes with 4GB of data and unlimited talk and text.
jacob mcdonald don’t you mean 3GB?
Yes, thank you Elizabeth. I get a bonus gigabyte every month with Verizon because I bought the sim kit from Walmart. Just go to your local Walmart and you’ll see where all the plans come with an extra one gigabyte.
Btw, this video is old. The 50$ plan now comes with 7 gigabytes and 8 gigabytes if you buy it from Walmart.
don't forget about metro boost & the others
Do a video of Verizon's new unlimited prepaid plan!!
You should review H2O's new plans.
I'll look into it!
Thanks that would really help!!
the O#O#O#O# thing did not work for me the sorry good bye came
wow that is a amazing plan however I wish unlimited data was available with Verizon. I seriously can't believe how good this prepaid option is though . Damn cell plans are horrendously expensive in US.
If you use a lot of data you want the unlimited data plan. I used 80 gbs in one month before.
Can you call Mexico
Uh stetson, the 30$ T-Mobile plan don't have unlimited talk and text just text
Good catch! My mistake.
ill stick with cricket 55 a month for 10 gigabytes of high-speed data
I use Cricket myself. In my opinion they have the best price to coverage ratio.
Stetson Doggett AT&T coverage for that price is a steal. Also you have a lot of freedom with cricket since it is a gsm network
I heard Cricket had a 55 a month with 20 gigabytes a month of high speed like 2 years ago at least.
The Great Brandon indeed that is true
Th33Vultur3 yep now it is 55 a month for 12
I can't watch the video
I think I'll stick with TOTAL Wireless.
Hoping to review them soon!
Stetson Doggett
Looking forward to it!
Screw verizon
what carrier was your s8+?
wack... boost gives you 24gigs of LTE. 8gigs of hotspot. i pretty much sum up around 60gigs of data per month. ...5gigs is a joke
The problem is that there are areas of the country that don't give you Sprint coverage through Boost and as a result, Boost would be useless like it is in my area. Verizon and AT&T are the ones that work and maybe T-Mobile in my area. I had to leave Boost as a result of bad coverage for Verizon.
I tried Verizon prepaid it sucks
pointman11479 Why did it suck for you?
MrDutchentre i live in maine and Verizon coverage sucks
pointman11479 I see. I live in Louisville Kentucky and Verizon service is excellent. Guess it all depends on where you are.
