Thanks for posting this video. My Dad worked on these engines a bit in the field (Battle of the Bulge) but another friend told me how valuable he was to the U.S. Army, because of his skills with this engine. It was apparently not he easiest metal beast to set up the camshafts and distributor timing, and he was an expert in that, making him so precious that his commanders kept him in the safest surroundings possible. It also shows so well how satisfying engine work can be: "Ah! It runs!"
When I was a boy, fire trucks ran on those big gas engines. I remember that deep growl.
Thank you for sharing this video and your experience. This engine is awesome.
Amazing thing! An engine this size running on gas! No wonder the Allied really needed Pluto running full time.
Je suis devenu fan de ce moteur. Merci d'avoir partage, et excusez moi mon francais. Cordialement Solomon
fire breathing monster of an engine and sounds awsome
So close and then it runs as though there was never an issue :o)
Hall Scotts all liked to breath fire, especially the butane burners.
bruce weerner
Thierry bravo pour le démarrage du gros moteur,,qui est capricieux. Amitiés
Sounds very nice. It is getting there. Will be a beautiful truck when all done.
Thats great :D you got any pictures of that engine?
Sounds so good
Very nice..how far is the restoration?
I think the timing needs advanced a little bit, based on the constant flames pouring out.
Me too, I'am not a Mackinac.
Bravo 👏👏👏
Bonsoir viens de voir cette video Chapeau beau travail J ai un petit probleme avec mon Ward Lafrance Comment sont disposee les commandes du teuil et de la grue pour les accelerateur a main Merci
que poca maña amigo !
Ain't got no gas!...Karl Childers.
You can literally watch the fuel in the bottle go down at the last scene of this video! Hall-Scott engine's aren't exactly fuel efficient!
Yes,but long on horse power. Worked on a couple in the 60"s
Hall Scott powered Brill buses were said to be liked by drivers because they could pass anything on the road, except a gas station.
I think it needs fuel
cambiaria los pistones
You can hear it slow in time. What wrong with these people.
Not too smart.
dont this engine run on gravity fuel
I believe this engine has an updraft carburetor. It is mounted low on the side of the block.
Sacre bleau ! avance le allumage par dieu!
I gave up watching after 7 minutes. It's so tiresome, as they don't know what they are doing.

He is probably one of the best MV mechanic you can find in europe.
He have a very long vehicle restoration list.

All were stripped down and completly rebuild.

@@s16t16 No kidding!?
Jeeze dude it was a joke!
Very nice work, is that a Zenith Model # 29 Carb?
Adieu,
Is this the standard M26 or the M26A1?
The restoration looks very good, I also collect and restore both US and German military trucks, the closest I have come to an M26 is I owned a MACK 123 for a few years. The engine in the M26 was of course the Hall Scott but wasnt it like 844 cubic inch? If I am not mistaken the MACK 123 came out with and engine of spectacular cubic inches prior to them replacing it with the MACK V8 but diesel. Extremely interesting old truck!
大きなエンジンの排気音に秀樹感激Goodです=3
WOULD HAVE BEEN Awesome if He had
GONE ALL AROUND THE ENGINE WITH THE. CAMERA ; INSTEAD OF SHOWING US. WHAT WE HAD ALREADY SEEN
((2)) TIMES
Get to going and get on with it
Show de motor. ✌️
Sans liquide de refroidissement bravo
