Picasso arrived at his abstract style over time, starting from realism and arriving at abstraction through exploration that revolutionized art. Starting at abstraction is not the same. But creativity should be more encouraged in youth. What this kid is doing is significant. I hope he continues to push himself and I hope other parents and kids see him as an example that anyone, no matter age, can make art if they commit themselves and explore their creativity.

It wouldn’t be the same in Picasso’s day sure, but in this day and age there is a wealth of artwork and history for this kid to consume over centuries - and he would be able to much faster refine a style from this.
Kids pick up things at a different rate as adults, we adults as you say need to be better attuned to individual strengths.

Also he is probably from a rich family allowing him to freely explore his passion, with time and money not likely a constraint. Don’t get me wrong - all credit too him, he’s amazing. But if all kids had his opportunity, I bet we’d see more child prodigies early on.

Cive the kid a break! Yes, it's like Picacasso, cubism, etc. whatever. He's just a talented kid ..don't try to trash him because your kid is still fingerpainting....with difficulty. The little guy is indeed a painting prodigy..! Love his works. If people want to pay him bit bucks..that;s their business. NOW...get over it!
