If you're on a Mac, you can drop the LUTs in: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/Davinci Resolve/LUT. If you're on a PC it's C:/ProgramData/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Support/LUT
I followed all the routines where you color graded each clip, tweaked areas, applied masks etc. Then you went to a gallery of preset LUTs which you applied to the entire group. Can you explain the difference between all the custom work you did first and the LUT application? What the LUT?
I think this is probably the most straight forward tutorial I've been able to find on color grading on youtube. I like the fact that you also covered a lot of ground in short period of time. Some people will spend 10 minutes on just tweaking lift gamma and gain to match footage.
Though I must say that I'm not fan of the look, this tutorial itself is amazing! Such a good job explaining the program and very good for beginners too!
Please tell me, I can't find the function, the shift of clips when transferring, taking it with the mouse, so that it doesn't cut off the clips when you want to insert a clip between clips on the timeline?
I watched so many tutorials on color grading, as I bought a drone and wanna shoot more professional. But seriously yours is the best. You can make it look so easy and its just awesome! Thank you so much for producing this gem of a video!
I've been sick of hearing partial things about color grading from tutorials in youtube. But i think i found the right guy now. The videos on your channel are so great man. Great work !! I love the way you take it so easily explaining each and every bit. understood everything right upto the mark. loved the video again!
This is one of the better explanatory videos I've seen of DR 15 and actually video editing in general. Really did a good job of explaining the colour wheel uses in clips and how to quickly colour correct and equalize clips.
omg I learned so much from this tutorial. I was so intimidated by the rotoscopes and charts and instantly had it explained simply for me. Jawdropping for real. Thank you so much man!
Very good tutorial for someone just starting to edit in Da Vinci like me. Started at the right place - where to find the colour page! A couple of other tutorials started with the colour wheels already on screen, and I had no idea how to get there. (Searched the top of screen, nothing.) Then, covered more than I can take in right away, but all clearly explained and I can come back to it when I am ready for that stage.
Wow. I just downloaded DaVinci Resolve 15 and I've never really done any video editing before so tutorials like this, while overwhelming to a beginner like me, are absolutely appreciated. This program is so powerful that I'm sure I won't even scratch the surface of what it can do. Thank you so much for the tutorial. My brain hurts from watching all the fantastic stuff that I still need to learn
This was by far the best video on TH-cam for the beginner. I spent days trying to find things, not knowing how it worked as I came off Premiere. This was a game changer for a first timer.
idol! kala ko ba premiere gamit mo? hehe. nandito ka sa video na to ah. nagb-browse ako ng mga da vinci resolve tutorial at nabasa ko ang comment mo hehe.
Great vid bro! I love how genuinely excited you are about what you're doing. I'm excitable like that so it's refreshing to see it in others. I'm brand spanking new to editing (never done it in my life) so these vids help.
This is exactly the tutorial I've been looking for. The narrator made everything so easy to follow and understand. I can't wait to get started on my own!
I started making videos about 8 months ago. it has been a very slow process, I finally feel like I know how to use a camera but found out I need to learn how to white balance and color correct. This "crash course" makes me realize that this journey is goin to take me so long to learn.
Watched this a few months back, got a few things out of it. Since I've been into this stuff, it's even more helpful now! Love it when videos don't outlive their usefullness.
The details in this video are great. The small details (definitions, etc.) are usually glossed over as a basic piece of knowledge. I like that you decided to review it here.
your very pro man in davinici thank u so much and hope you talk more about color correction couse its very important for editing and to give nice quality for video ads.
WATCH THIS ONE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. This is probably one of the best Davinci Resolve 15 tuts around. Why? It not only explains color grading workflow very well but on the fly it is packed with little gems about tools in DR15 be it nodes, qualifiers, power windows, scopes, tracking..... it goes on and on. And don't forget the tricks!
Honestly this was so awesome.... Gosh I couldn't believe how simple you made it. Thank you so much. 💓. Pls how do I get to know when you do your webinars Pls?
Nice job man ! Thank you it's been a while since I used this program so it was a great tutorial to refresh my knowledge besides that I love the way you explain the new things man very clear ! A special hi from the island of Curacao !
That is really neat how you can move the clips like that. That seems to be so convenient. I like how it is broken down and seems to be so easy to use with this tutorial. It is explained very well so most people can understand how to use it.
A great tutorial for new and experienced users, I was new yo Davinci, but I was lucky to find this video. I even brought it with a friend who is pro filmmaker, she said she has watched same video!
I like how he went straight to demonstrating how to use the software which is very important for me. About the software itself, it's pretty much what I've been looking for. I have a few video editing apps on my phone but they don't have any features like this one does.
This program has amazing graphics and editing tools to let you put you put your own spin on editing different features such as color, lighting, and sound.
At first I felt hopeless about this, thank you for shedding so much knowledge on this. It helped a lot. I appreciate you making this video. I did not expect it to be this extravagant before I started.
Holy moly! The best tutorial I've come across (have watched quite a few). Best in terms of clarity, practicality and enthusiasm... makes me want to go and try Resolve right away! Thank you.
Absolutely one of the best videos on color grading and Resolve 15. If you are taking requests please do a video on using nodes in Fusion. Thanks for this.
No idea why I thought video editing would be so much more difficult than editing photos, but you have made it look ridiculously easy (and similar). Great introductory tutorial, and useful for many things. Nice.
I'm new to DaVinci Resolve and have been having trouble getting a good grasp of how things work. Your video has really helped me, thorough easy to understand instructions very good for beginners. Hope you do more DaVinci Resolve tutorials like this, thanks a lot!
omg...LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH. I downloaded the editing software after buying having no idea how to actually use it. Thank you so much, now I can help edit my friend's video!!
Coming from using Lumetri in Premiere Pro, Resolve is so much better in terms of intuitiveness of the panels, and the sheer power of the features that Prem Pro doesn't have. Also, clean, clear, and excellent tutorial! No unnecessary rambling. Subbed!
I appreciate the speed and efficiency of this tutorial. You covered a lot of great information, quickly! Answered all of my questions on getting started with Resolve. All tutorials should be this efficient!
Mind doing another one for 16? I’ve been through quite a few tutorials now and yours seems to be the most interesting without being overly complicated. Appreciate it.
This an amazing tutorial. Short condensed and down to the point. I'd really love to see a MAKING OF of this tutorial. You do so many great video editing stuff, e.g. all the zooming into the parts of the screen that you are currently talking about. I would love to know how to do that. Thanks again for the great tutorial about color grading!
WOW, amazing crash course! You just won me over from premiere pro camp by demonstrating how powerful (and yet easy to use) resolve is. I love your teaching style and enthusiasm - please don't change your style :-) . Can you do more crash courses about motion tracking, stabilizer, and special effects in resolve? More videos about advanced color grading will be wonderful too. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks so much! We cover some of those topics in our Color Grading Academy, though some are more VFX-centric. We mostly cover just the color aspects of Resolve.
This is an outstanding tutorial. I come from a still photography background and this is great for transferring that knowledge over to motion. Thanks for the fast-paced, clear, and informative format.
Wow, this tutorial is fantastic. I have tried DaVinci Resolve so many times but found it hard to learn. This 19 minutes gave me a great start point. Great narration too!
This is an excellent tool for beginners and even experts. The tips they provide are used by professionals, and this video will give you the inside scoop.
How have I missed this tutorial? I've used Premiere for few years and I have struggled few months now with Resolve color grading. With Premiere you use Layers and adjust the opacity or blend. Apparently with Resolve you similarly use Group Node and Key output, now this is what I've been looking for so long, thank you very many!
Not ony did I learn some color grading workflow but resolve tips in getting around the interface this is by far the best tut on these concepts Ive seen well done sir well done subbed!
Quick simple and concise. I'd been having trouble mapping the process from raw image editing to DaVinci and it just didn't port well when it should have. But this video provided the key and made it all so clear, while also giving a great hig-level look at how the workspace is organized and where everything is. Thanks a lot.
