Try it on chrome? I first used Soundtrap on Firefox, and there were a lot of bugs...But then I tried using Chrome and everything went well. I hope you were able to find your solution before then.

There is a piano roll, this video just is really focused on loops for reason and leaves a terrible impression of the software. I make music with it so I know. You might not like the lack of a normal mixer though.
