      @@501michaelwest!

    So my seed pod fell off of my now dead plumeria, she died from Rod during the winter all my fault anyway the seat part is very healthy but I don’t know what to do with it. Should I put it in water and keep it there and see if she opens should I take it out of water and leave her in the air to dry should she be in the sunshine or in just natural light in the kitchen? This worked great! I got 100% of my seeds to root.
    One question, what is the hydrogen peroxide for? Does that prevent the seeds from rotting?
    If so, is it OK to water the plants with the same diluted solution
    Peeling off the husk was very nerve wracking so half I peeled and half I just planted with the husk. The peeled ones produced "leaves" faster, but all plants made it.

    • @johnherndon4804
      @johnherndon4804  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @johnherndon4804

      Most importantly is do not overwater them. I leave them in the cups till spring. Then put them in 1 gallon pots. I use 666 fertilizer for the first 3 years. Then a blooming fertilizer. Very few bloom at 3 years but some will. Continue to fertilize and plant or put in larger pots as needed. I live in FL and the property is flooded at least once a year so I have to keep them in elevated pots tied to lines so they don't blow over.

    I received the 4 tier greenhouse and the #9 oz cups are too large for the holes. Is there a brand you used that I might buy? I've bought a second, identical, greenhouse to stack on the 4 tier. I really like how they hold my Jiffy trays.

      I also bought some small greenhouses that came with smaller holes. I bought 2 x 3 fencing from Lowe's to use as shelves but also built wooden frames with hanging chains so the shelves could be adjusted for height.

      @@johnherndon4804 Friday I should have my 6th small greenhouse like the ones you bought. I've started over 300 Plumerias' from seeds now and almost 100% have germinated and are doing great. I went to Home Depot and had absolutely no luck with anything they had to hold the correct size of plastic cups. It looks as if I'll just keep investing in these greenhouses and stack them X2 for each one. One shelf will hold 27 cups and will be great until the plants are too tall for the shelves. Then I'll have to get serious about finding another location.

      @sutil5078 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elma you planted the seeds directly in the potted soil. so no further drying process of the seeds? I know using only water will be fine, that is how nature works anyways.. My question is if you use artificial thing here and there it might give you higher chance of germination but would not that make your investment bigger in the sense that the death of some of them could be due to the fact that some of those seeds were not good and strong ones to start with so you save watering and work on them by using natural means and allowing natural process to weed the weaker ones? I do not know how this can be tested since no one knows which seeds are the weaker which are not in order to perform the experiments, but I think it is an educated guess.
