    I watched almost all your videos. You are an absolutely amazing model makler. I just got my first two parts packages for the Millennium Falcon. My question is what were your sorces for the lighting you did throughout the ship? I did find most of those photo etched metal parts on Ebay and saved them to my wish list. I want to take my time and do the best I can using some of your techniiques. I am a fairly good model maker. I mainly build a lot of O scale kit for my O Gauge train layout. I did build a Millennium Falcon kit many years ago. I am not sure of the manufacturer. It is probably made AMT or MPC. It is about a foot and a half long with a cut-away removable section on the leftside to reveal the interior. I did weather that model using the picture on the box as a guide.

    Hi Chris- been following your work on your TH-cam channel. Really impressed by how you work. I’m starting out almost brand new to modelling and for my first challenge taking on the Millennium falcon by deagostine.
    Hope to see you pick up the X-wing, but I’m interested in the lights and sounds and how to get it all working. The internet has too much information

    Awesome build and inspiration. I’ve wanted this model for a couple years, and after seeing your videos. I decided to pull the trigger. I did have a question about the paints used for the seats, and corridors. What colors and or weathering pastels

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The seats I believe I used Tamiya wooden deck tan XF-78. Not sure specifically in the corridors what you're referring too. The cushions I kept the kit color and just used some mud and dirt pastels to dirty them up. The walls and floors were done with Tamiya metallic grey XF-56

    awesome video....one question....how are you making them blink?? (laymens terms please)

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The blinking is from fibers hooked up to blinking LEDs. You can purchase LEDs that already blink. I have 3 of them and fibers running to them. It gives a randomness to the blinking with 3 different LEDs.

    Hello again Chris. I’ve just started my Millennium Falcon build. So I’m about to ask a very noob question. My apologies. Question about the priming/ painting the seats. How did you hold the seats up on the styrofoam block?

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use toothpicks and Quake Hold. It's a museum putty to hold items on shelves, if you're not familiar. It just a tacky putty that sticks to about anything. So I just put a little blob on the end of a toothpick and stick the parts to that, in an area where it would be glued and doesn't need to be painted. There are probably other things out there similar you could use. I just happen to have the Quake Hold because I use it on the bottom of my models to keep them secure on my shelves, since I do live in SoCal.

    Hello again! I just subscribed and am doing the cockpit with paragrahix. I was going to use the backlit led that comes with the kit and paint holes with clear paint and add some fiber optic like you did. What are you using to run to power source? I know the kit comes with AA. Where are all your others going?

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm running the whole Falcon off of a 9v 1.5a power supply. Using the kit board as well as additional boards I soldered. I did split the input to both boards, as running all my lights through the kit board was not enough juice. It couldn't handle the amperage. You can see more detail in my part 7 video "Hull lighting and Wiring". I had finished my cockpit before Paragrafix had released their cockpit etch, and before I even knew about his etching. Otherwise, I would've probably used his as well. But I'm very happy with how mine turned out.

    • @modelsbychris
