Thank you so much Luke. I've always been a fan but started watching your DJing videos 6 months ago when I started DJing myself. It's been the most helpful, I always learn something new with every new video.
I dont know who to use a mixer and i dont have a mixer so i dont have anything in this video and i make music but i still clicked and liked just i love your music and vlogs SALUTE
Yes! DJ's need to use their EQ's! I've used the EQ's and loops to get two songs that are completely different from each other (tempo, key, genre) and was very surprised how much smoother a mix can be. Love the videos Luke!
Damn Luke, I love your Techno alter-ego! Nice & Bangin’ just as Techno should be. I much prefer it to the other stuff you play. You just earned yourself a new subscriber 🤙
I've been mixing for over 4 years now and found the tutorial to be a great review with great tips! It also reminded me to use the High EQ more often... Thank you for the, as always, great video Luke!
always great watching you Luke!! ive purchased a ticket to ministry of sound opening night in London on the hopes that you will be the DJ!!! keeping everything crossed
Hey Luke! Great video :) You should do a vlog where you find the shittiest dj gear you can and you do a mix with it. Maybe in my mind style? I think that would be interesting and a nice challenge
Good day Luke! Hope its well where you are. Wondering what is YOUR favorite tune or tunes from Dark Chanell? Which one or two would you reccomend or that resonates highly with you personally?
I don't understand if Luke is saying tracks are mastered at the perfect eq AND recommends leaving the knobs in the middle during the song, why are DJs like Fedde touching eq knobs NON-STOP for an hour during their sets?
Ha ha I know good point! That's a common thing a lot of DJs do and actually sometimes it's similar to a reflex like touching your nose when you speak, or maybe like running your hands through your hair when you speak. These are inbuilt type of DJ reflexes that have snuck in throughout the years but don't necessarily add up to the sound.
that denon dj looks great, too bad we're somewhat forced to go with pioneer for "industry standard" in clubs. would not be comfortable to carry it with you everywhere, and not advisable to constantly switch between those two depending on the venue availability.
Dave, can I ask you something? I hope you don't get me wrong, and regardless of your answer, I will work for you starting on April 5th without fail. This year it started with great difficulty, I lost the job I had, and some family problems in Brazil, and I would like to know if it is possible for you to increase the amount we agreed on a little more. As I said before, nothing changes regardless of your answer, but I believe that asking is okay. Thank you in advance and see you soon.
I have a tutorial for all dj‘s press play no need for a dj, lets play your playlist automatically and use the time to learn an instrument… now we are talking… turning knobs LMAO
Really good vlog. Maybe it is what you know or how it’s taught in the Netherlands (language difference) but if it helps. “I will teach you-“ over “I will explain you-“. I have gotten creative with my mixes, and using the EQs and filters. Mainly for vocals, trying to accentuate the mids and using the high pass filter gets rid of more of the other frequencies so it sits better in the mix. I tend to use more mid eqs for vocals on top of the tracks i’m mixing on. Are you saying it would be better to just use the gain? Thanks!
Techno djs in 90s will be like..."what do you think, you cant eq to the right" That was most over used/abused dj "trick" they/we used... bass eq to minus whille mid to the max ...For half a bar or a bar, just before the drop...But back then we haven had any efexts on mixers etc..
You have all been bamboozled! This is just a button pusher pretending he really manipulates music and he calls him self a dj! All he does is unnecessary
This video is gold for every DJ/Producer who learning how to dj, its so important to know your equipment
Great Tutorial Luke!
Thank you Yannick, to know your equipment is very true and can only help!

This video is a gold mine for DJ's. I always leave the color fx set to "filter" as I don't like messing up my EQ settings
That's one way to do it!
Great tutorial from the best!
Luke said ” I do Kungfu on the decks” lol
Ha ha I guess that could work, I did get my DJ skills by putting the hard work in. And Kung Fu means Hard Work : )
hahha yeah, but not like Salvatore Ganacci! :DD
He literally does but I like to let the songs play in my sets. Sorry folks!
That was very good thank you 💙
Great video, Thank You
Thanks this video help out i didnt know the little tricks on the EQ
Damn Luke, I love your Techno alter-ego! Nice & Bangin’ just as Techno should be. I much prefer it to the other stuff you play. You just earned yourself a new subscriber 🤙

Excelente thank you
Nice
unitys track is simply the best banger ever, hihi insta subwoofer max
Luke, would you be able to do a compare and contrast between DJing house vs hip-hop?
I love the knobs who just gets touched to look busy as a DJ LMAO
Good day Luke! Hope its well where you are.
Wondering what is YOUR favorite tune or tunes from Dark Chanell? Which one or two would you reccomend or that resonates highly with you personally?
Genial, ahora solo me faltan las denon para poder practicar 😂🙁
Do you miss Pioneer DJ gear?
Old tracks sometimes turn EQ 1 o clock. Usually lows are ok.
next you should go over how to make your own dj logo and how to update it
I don't understand if Luke is saying tracks are mastered at the perfect eq AND recommends leaving the knobs in the middle during the song, why are DJs like Fedde touching eq knobs NON-STOP for an hour during their sets?

King chroma
I'm a DJ and I have only one knob. It's for the ladies.
Bo Bo, we all know you never meet a woman in recent decades...
@@User-xw4dt Don't be jealous of the girls. I'm sure there are plenty of knobs out there you can play with... fondle, etc... :D
