My mother came down with the flu really badly one year and was bedridden for a week. During that time her eye developed a cataract that her doctor said was the worst he'd seen in 30+ years of practicing. We still don't know if it was connected to the flu or what, but he described it as something you would expect to see on someone twice her age who has had them for YEARS.
It's never a great sign when your doctor is taking pictures for a medical journal and asking "Are you SURE this wasn't here a week ago?"

Guy works as a mechanic and a car comes into the shop for various issues. Goes to take it to his bay and immediately realizes something is badly wrong. Turns out that this 5-year-old car had never been serviced. Not even an oil change so the engine is basically a write-off as what was in the oil pan was like cottage cheese. The owner had thought that all you need to do is top up the fluids every now and then and that beyond this you just fixed stuff as it broke. As you might have guessed the owner went apeshit when the mechanic started listing everything that needed to be fixed and told him he'd have to pay it all out of pocket as this was damage due to neglect.
He wasn't the only one to have an "I've worked in the field for X years and never seen anything like this"-experience as nobody who worked there at the time had seen anything like it.

I worked briefly in a strip bar, adult club in south Orlando FL, 7+ weeks 2009. I once walked into the mens rest room & a unknown Persian guy wearing 🕶 in a 🚽 was holding a pile of $100.00 bills 💵. He slowly began to rip up & throw away the $100s 😳. He looked drunk or high so I didnt want him to freak out or lunge at me... it was wild.

At another place i told about my 6 month adventure as a nigh café owner.
When cleaning up i also cleaned the toilets. It was occupied.
15 minutes go by and nothing, no responce when knocking on door. So i open up.
In there, at the basin, sat a girl fast asleep taking a dump.
Wtf!!
Didnt respond when i shouted, so called an ambulance.
They came, nodded their heads and took her out.
Apparently there are some people who think the toilets in public bathrooms (mind you, this was a café.) are filthy, so they do their business in the basin.
Havent been using many of those public restrooms since then.
