@@louie2g im actually learning all of the shortcuts and they really do help but the main thing that slows me down big time is that i wonder too much about everything and i can just sit in place for like 20 minutes trying to figure out the best bass line or what sounds to layer. like kenny beats said: don't overthink shit. i just can't let something go and i always come back to my projects to change something because i don't like 1 small thing in my beat.
@@le4chehenry324 I have that problem as well, but the main thing that messes me up is loving what I'm making at first, thinking it sounds great, and then by the time I've added a few more layers and instruments and it really starts to take shape, it starts sounding corny af to me. It happens literally every time I make something.
I''m not gonna say they're bad, because that's obviously subjective. But I will say that only a handful of rappers are looking for a sound like this. I think that's important to know for people that are starting out producing. You see a lot of people gassing these guys up in the comments, but this is niche production. Everything clipping, no mixing, just layers and layers of aggressive sounds repeating through the whole song, no nuance. Again, I'm not saying nobody is looking for these types of beats, but it's a very limiting path to go down. I know I'll get attacked by the community for saying that, but I felt like I'd throw that out there.
I won’t say your opinion is invalid. But, someone’s gotta make them if someone wants to use beats like this. Also it’s fun to make less artist friendly beats sometimes
well the new wave of hiphop is def more punk inspired so your argument is kinda unvalid, more people then ever are hopping on these kind of beats, the world is also in a very fucked up state which means its only natural for music like this to be popular
his workflow is actually goated
