  • SunPatiens® are incredible annual flowers, perfect for any space in the garden. That’s right, they thrive in any light exposure from full sun to full shade! Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist, and Education Manager with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about SunPatiens®. This hybrid of two species is versatile, easy to care for, and provides non-stop blooms from spring to fall. At Petitti’s, we grow 14 different color varieties in addition to combination planters and hanging baskets. Along with their ability to tolerate various light exposures, SunPatiens® are also fantastic for attracting hummingbirds, resistant to downy mildew & disease, and tolerant of high heat and humidity. Bonus - they're self-cleaning and don't need deadheading, at all!

I grew these in full sun and had fantastic results. Seems like the entire town wanted to know what they were! Very impressive.

I didn’t know they would grow in less sun and even shade! ❤

I cut my sunpatiens back a lot because they were very leggy. They are growing back very green and pretty but haven’t had any flowers bloom. How long will it take for the flowers to come back and bloom?

On the fertilizer aspect, I’ve heard they do not like heavy fertilizer.

Now --- This is my experience with the Sun Patience in central Ohio ...... First off they are Beautiful .... However even without regular fertilizing by the mid summer they where really big .... 20 -- 24 tall and 18 -- 20 wide and I would consider them to be water hogs ..... they did seem to hold their shape pretty well ... Yes I am complaining because it was not what I had expected I purchased 15 of them and would have preferred them to to stay at half the size .... So this year Geraniums ... !!!

In north central OH, loved they did grow so large, but not as big as yours did and never fertilized. Can't wait to buy more for this spring!

I have regular impatiens and all my blooms have fallen off. I bring them in (hanging basket) some with the high heat. Maybe I need some fertilizer to make them bloom? I live in Shreveport LA and have shade and sun.

Do they stay small or compact?

I would be careful saying they can handle full sun. I live in SoCal mine get easily 8hrs of sun. During the summer they look like they are melting and burn up really bad. With that said Most of mine have survived Winter and are now really well rooted and have gotten very large. But we just had a couple 80degree days in March and they melted back a bit.
