I would agree. If HoS got the BaW treatment (full new area, more in depth lore, characters, new armor, weapons, discoverables, etc) I think we’d be talking about it the same way we talk about BaW today.
Easily THE best game I have ever played. I think I have more fond memories from this game than any other games combined. There are just so many unforgettable moments littered throughout the game, including those in the masterclass of DLC's. And let's not forget that this game will be 10 YEARS OLD next year yet it still can go toe-to-toe with modern games in terms of performance, visuals, gameplay, etc. Truly a masterpiece that deserves all the praise it gets.
Hearts of Stone is pretty short but finish all things on the maps that you can before even starting Blood and Wine. Blood and Wine could have been a standalone game pretty much biggest DLC ever! But I do recommend finishing all side stuff for all the maps you have open before starting to get all the game in full.
Thank you, Rob. Your whole ride through this so far is an absolute 10/10. The DLC's will make it 15/10. Blood and Wine is to me the greatest expansion for a game ever made.
You're quite right in your assessment, my dude. I played this game back in 2015 when it came out and subsequently played all the other epic games like RDR2, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, Wukong, you name it. They are all absolutely amazing games in their own regard,...but still can't find a single one to top the Witcher 3. It's just that good. I don't think even CDPR can deliver something better than it at this point. It's just the perfect blend of everything right that have been building up since the books and the previous 2 games to an ultimate Magnum Opus which will be hard to beat by a huge margin.
The voice actor for Emperor Emhyr also plays Tywin Lannister in Game of thrones. Think it’s safe to say they picked the perfect guy to voice act the Emperor 😂
I was skeptical for the first few minutes of this playthrough when I heard you'd read all the books first, but I was so wrong. It was refreshing to see that foreknowledge enhanced your experience instead of hearing someone dissect every detail that didn't match their expectation. I've played this masterwork of a game for hundreds of hours, but you sharing that knowledge with such fanboy enthusiasm really expanded my appreciation for it. Your play style is so different than mine that it felt like playing it again for the first time. Thank you for that.
The music at the beginning of battle preparations is my most favourite. I took magic mushrooms and walked around that port area for like an hour. I’ll never forget how immersed I was. Geralts armour also looked SO real.
Good job man! Finally made it. Its not just her getting empress, the whole endscene is much more depressing and a lot sadder. You can see that she doesnt feel comfortable with the decision of beeing empress but somehow has to take this destiny. I personally think the witcher ending is by far the best ending and the most suitable one for ciri. She always wanted to be "free" and now she is a witcher teached by Geralt, which is probably the best that could've ever happened to her. Can't wait to see you in the DLC's. Blood and Wine is a masterpiece
I don’t know if you’ve seen this, Rob. I’ve been following you since the start of The Witcher 3 series, and I have to say everything is perfect. You read the books before playing what I consider the greatest game of all time, which I envy you for. Luckily, your joy at seeing Ciri alive outweighed everything else. Many people were surprised to see Geralt appear in Kaer Morhen after completing the main story. I’ll let you cook !
watching the joy of someone playing this for the first time has been awesome. i play through this game about once a year but no time will ever be like the first. the heart of stone DLC and blood and win Expansion are 10000% worth playing. i enjoy blood and wine as much as the main story.
Some channels have 90+ videos on Witcher 3, you did it in 19. Hats off sire! Btw I did take Ciri to Emir and she still became a witcher. I basically played like Geralt trusts her with her own decisions.
CONGRATS! Man, what a journey. It's far from over yet, but what a journey. Honestly these uploads have become the highlight of my day. Can't wait to see you play fhe DLCs.
Damn I wish I could experience this game for the first time again. Loved your playthrough, my favorite one I've watched and probably the only one I have watched completely through. You're gonna LOVE the DLCs, they're almost like a completely new game, there's so much content to be done.
You've still got Hearts of Stone and then afterwards, you've got Blood and Wine as a perfect wrap-up to Geralts story, you've got a bit to go yet, not to worry :P Absolutely fantastic content as always brother!
After finishing the Hearts of Stone DLC, tackle any unfinished quests and focus on upgrading your gear-though, honestly, upgraded armor could already come in handy for Hearts of Stone! 😉 Blood and Wine is my favorite expansion (of all time) and I can't wait to see some episodes from this DLC - there's so much to explore and the story is fantastic!
You cool dude rob. The series was great. I was playing along and watching the vedios to see how wpuld you react differently to how i reacted. It was a fun !
Loved watching the playthrough!❤ hearts of stone is so good I think you’ll really like it. Make sure to get better armour before starting it though I think you’re level 35 using early level 20 armour😂
TH-cam just adviced me you. And know what? I like you, i like your emotions, it is kind of i play this amazing game one other time. Thank you for this time, really. And i am from Moscow, Russia)) We do love good games here too.
Btw, About the whole empress and emyr thing, I decided to visit emyr and still got the best ending, there are a few reasons: 1-I did not accept the coin from emyr, that is actually very important and that moment where you don't accept the coin and ciri holds your hand actually ends up being a bonding moment with ciri which she ends up remembering while confronting the white frost. 2-I didn't interfere with the war, the thing is if you visit emyr but don't kill Radovid or Dijkstra, She still becomes a witcher, But for me I didn't even do the quest (deadly plot) because I was too interested with the main story😭😂 3-I encouraged her when she decided to fight the white frost, that is a very important moment as well.
Well, The ONLY thing that actually matters for the empress ending is Nilfgaard winning the war. If you're just not kind to Ciri, the bad ending will trigger, regardless if you went to see Emhyr. These checks include the coin from Emhyr and trusting Ciri at the end. So kind + Emhyr and Nilfgaard winning = Empress Kind + no Emhyr and/or Nilfgaard losing = Witcher Not Kind = bad ending
It Has been very interesting watching you play this game, I found out about this game years ago, but didn't really invest in it much for I was very young and due to the lack of my knowledge in English, I couldn't get what the story was about. A couple of weeks ago decided to give it a go, and by the end of it my mind was blown of what I had missed all these years, Just like yourself I played rdr2 and elden ring before this, but still The Witcher 3 is absolutely the best game I have ever experienced. And believe me, the dlc's are incredible, so your not done with this game just yet. As for the dlc's, both are very good but blood and wine is much better, but Hearts of Stone is enjoyable aswell. Amazing series, waiting for the next episodes!
Blood And Wine takes place 2 years after the end of Wild Hunt. So it will be the last adventure of Geralt. Do Hearts Of Stone before ! And in fact, the true canon ending is Ciri Witcher and Geralt with Yennefer like the canon comic that takes place between Wild Hunt and B&W
First, just for the heartbreak, check "bad" endings. Second and third, I envy you the possibility to experience this game and amazing DLC's for the first time. And for the good finish, set your sights on Cytberpunk. Red's didn't loose storytelling abilities and immersion is paramount, even comparing to witcher.
I had to play this game several times cause I got a different ending at first and then different for each time but still I'd say TW3 is by far the only game that will make you want to play multiple times
Wait before finishing all the dlc even if this video has 5 days you wpn't regret playing the dlc this game is beyond word i could say to describe how good he's and those 2 dlc are mind blowing ( i won't spoil anything for sure ) In my opinion you might feel empty after completing the dlc i dont know but i did have this feeling and i couldnt play a game for a 1week or 2 after play the witcher + dlc for 200h 😅. Im cured now but the first play through was beyond any word for me 😊 20/10 ( perso rate )
Caranthir was one of the easiest fights for me, when I played as Geralt. Especially when I found out he hurts the Ice Elementals he summons. All I had to do was lining myself with Caranthir behind them and he do the job for me. But I had huge problem with him on Ciri ;d.
Rob I know you're going to Plat and do the DLCs, but if you're looking for another story rich game (albeit extremely different from TW3), Ori and the Blind Forest/Ori and the Will of Wisps are amazing games that have incredible stories. They aren't too long and I imagine the plats for them aren't so bad.
If you take her to her father she can still become a witcher, it all depends on who wins the war in the north and that is based on decisions you make in the radovid assassination.
If you would have taken Ciri to Emhyr you would have the different ending where (Spoiler alert) Ciri takes the throne after Emhyr. That ending happens when you take Ciri to Emhyr and decide to Kill Radowid in the side quest. In that case Nilfgaard wins the war and Ciri becomes the Empress. It wouldn't have happened however if you killed Radowid but then spared Dijkstra - in that case Nilfgaard doesn't win the war so you get a Ciri becomes a Witcher ending regardless.
So iirc, you can still visit Emhyr and still get the Witcher ending instead of the Empress one. You just have to support and empower Ciri throughout the game, letting her make more independent choices like when you let her attend a meeting solo with Philippa and Margarita. And when you're talking to General Voorhis the dialogue has an affect on the outcome as well.
You can visit Emhyr and still gets the Witcher ending, but supporting Ciri iirc is only to counter the bad ending. The trigger for witcher or Empress comes down to Nilfgaard winning the war in that case.
This is the best game for me and then it will settle down for you and there will be top 3 I'm sure. The dlc's will be better than the main game in my opinion, hearts of stone is also in my opinion the best dlc's ever in gaming. And Blood and wine is very atmospheric something incredibly unique. You'll like that too but dude max out your armor for that dlc. Blood and wine especially will have really cool witcher armor.
2:08:43 hahahaha I think I have said it before but my top 5 games are currently: 1. Red Dead Redemption 2 2. Witcher 3 3. ELDEN RING 4. Cyberpunk 2077 5. God of War 2018

CD Projekt Red devs have deffinitly redeemed themselves. On death march it will be pain in the ass on level with some m***f**ers from Elden Ring 😆 Fully upgraded armor, best swords, alchemy and oils - all are required or you don't stand a chance.
Hearts of Stone gets overshadowed by Blood and Wine but if it was in the main game I think it would be considered the best quest line
I actually prefer heart of stones, story is so fkin good, characters are 10/10 , no bad thing about it
@modelistas1 the reused areas and shorter length are what held it back.
Heart of stone story is far better than main game or blood and wine but blood and wine is generally more complete.
@@Neil6393 true, whole new area etc, new mutations

i know why this is my favourite game of all time. This gut wrenching feeling, standing in an empty Kaer Morhen, just never goes away.
Depending on how you play it, you may still have Keira left at the end of the game in Kaer Morhen.
Thank you, Rob. Your whole ride through this so far is an absolute 10/10. The DLC's will make it 15/10. Blood and Wine is to me the greatest expansion for a game ever made.
