In 2014 when ESPN called it quits on covering NASCAR, Allen Bestwick said his farewell speech by including all the past commentators that have passed on or retired including that Ned Jarett and Benny Parsons.He knew who paved the way for true commentary and he gave praise. either retired or passed away. I thought that was a class act move from a class act announcer/man. A true professional. I hope he lands a huge job soon covering a sport that he loves.

There were a number of different guys who could've won (including Landon Cassill!). Bestwick's energy level is dearly missed. It always matched the level of excitement for the finish and sometimes elevated it. He truly is one of the all-time greats.
I remember that Subway Firecracker 250 finish. It was Fourth of July 2014 and the race finished about 20 minutes before we left for the local town's 4th of July fireworks display and there were like five of us screaming at the TV in this small little house and it was the fireworks before the fireworks.

You could have just used all of Allen Bestwick's calls from the final two laps if every race he broadcasted be all his calls were good if the races were close. Even if it weren't close he could still make it exciting.

Listen, I get that we miss having Bestwick in the booth, but unfortunately raging out against Rick Allen for the sake of trying to get Bestwick back is not gonna get Bestwick to reunite with NBC. Apparently Bestwick & NBC had a pretty bad breakup after Bill Weber became the lead announcer for the 2005 & 2006 seasons, so much to the point that even though NBC bailed in NASCAR the first time, Bestwick went to ESPN instead of stay with NBC's partner, TNT. I'm not sure NBC would be up to brining Bestwick back in any format, & even if they did, would he be up for coming back to NBC? If you guys *REALLY* want Bestwick back, you better either get 1 or more networks to replace FOX when their TV contract is up, or if FOX for whatever reason renews, convince Mike Joy to retire (Fun Fact: Joy is nearly 12 years older than Bestwick, so that _is_ plausible).
