    Hello Lucy, this is just the best tutorial for me so far. Wow.
    I so often struggle to get the colour right and can't ever quite get there.
    (My background as a landscape and portrait artist in oils, watercolour and pastels where I can mix colours to exactness on a palette or overlapping has given me a most critical eye for colour)
    You have just opened the door to a digital colour mixing palette for me.
    Thank you. 😊🙃 Wooo hooo now I can literally and digitally start "painting" again 🖌🖍🖌✏

    • @TheLucyMartin
      @TheLucyMartin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dinah, that’s amazing! With your background you’ll actually have a better idea than most about how the colours work together. That’s a great asset! I’m glad I could help and share some behind the scenes on how Lightroom works!

    This tutorial has answered all the questions - thank you! From your experience, do you find you've learnt the most of your editing doing it on your own? Not relying on courses. I ask this because I'm trying to learn how to learn photography, you could either dive yourself into theory or practual - but perhaps practual is better?

    TO truly calibrate your camera you need the Xrite ColorChecker Passport. Under the Basic tab is your Camera Profile tab where you will make your calibrated Profile for all Camera so that they will all match as well even different makes. helpful for wedding shooters with a second camera person working with you.

    Great video! Question: where does this adjustment sit in the “layer” order when editing? Before basic? Etc etc Thank you. (PS It be nice to know the stacking order of all the panels)

    • @TheLucyMartin
      @TheLucyMartin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally, I usually straight with the basic panel and just adjust Exposure to make sure that’s correct & temperature if my photo is obviously too cool or warm. After that, I go to the calibration panel to edit the colours. After that, I usually go back up to Basic again to work with shadows/highlights/contrast.
      You can really do it any way that works best for you though. This is what I like doing ☺️

  • @UTubeSuhail
    @UTubeSuhail 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Only partially accurate. Around 1:54 time stamp in the video, you point to a Primary color and mention that it has mix of R, G and B which is totally inaccurate and not how primary colors work. Entire range of colors in the visible color spectrum can be created my mixing these primary colors. For example Magenta has 50% Red, 50% Blue and 0% Green. I.e it doesn't have any Green. While totally unlikely if an image has pure Red pixel (255, 0, 0) then its purely Red . Camera Calibration tool is meant to mix these channels in order to make any corrections that default camera profile provided by the RAW processors (like in this has Lr) has missed. Although it can be used creatively for coming up a interesting color combinations. Kindly make sure the information shared is accurate.
