I visited Haarlem in very late January 2024 absolutely great place very clean, interesting and relaxing place to visit. Would definitely go back and recommend.
I am going to Amsterdam for the first time in April and I am trying to decide which smaller towns to visit nearby and I loved your video! I’m sure to visit Haarlem now! Thank you 😊
I stayed in Haarlem and used it as a base. I recommend it. It's a pleasant place to come back to after a day in Amsterdam, Delft, Leiden, The Hague and others.
Thanks for the lovely tour. We are going to be staying in Haarlem for a few days while we are tourists in Amsterdam. Glad to know there will be interesting things to see and do in the place where we are staying.
Kiitos videosta! As a Dutch person it's interesting to see a Finnish person talking about the towns here. Makes me motivated to (solo) travel a bit more, last summer I stayed in Helsinki and a few other Finnish towns. Finland is definitely my favorite European country!
Ah the city where I was born and raised. Living there, I did not mind the city, but more the surroundings. Polder, dunes, forest, beach, heavy industry area, fishing port, ruined castle, all at cycling distance. Did you see the 17th century grave with the shortest text on in in the world in the St. Bavo? There is nothing on it but "Ik" (I). I find that humoristic. You are quite tough to do this with a migraine, by the way. I only had it once in my life, and I could not bear any light and hoped for death to come in a minute. It was unbearable.
How lovely! I have been to the national park Zuid Kennemerland a few times, and it’s so beautiful! 😊 do you maybe have any other areas/places nearby you’d recommend? I have migraines quite often so that’s why i’m a bit more used to it and can kind of swith to this like ”autopilot mode” 😅 but the second I got home I went straight to bed even though it was only like 5/6pm..
Increible!! Was in may in haarlem. I am argentinian, dutch roots! Tks for your great video. I couldn't go up adrian's windmill, now I Saw it 😊. I sat on the same bench, entered the same beautiful cafe, ate the same fries!!! Bye jani, have a good life. I am 74, 🎉❤
Dear Janica, ewe are planning our summer holidays in Netherlands and it is super nice to follow you along your day trips. You have a very nice way to tell a city and such a curious mind that lead you to find some super nice and cool spots :)
I can't believe it was a prison in 2015??!! That's crazy how beautiful it looks in just 8 years of them changing it. Wonderful video as always. I am slowly binging your stuff, will take some time due to my terrible Internet connection but i will try my best. ❤
fun fact the stairs leading down to the cinema that was a concrete floor of the prison it had to be dug out what a massive project that must have been, the buildings surrounding the koepel are also being renovated.
hello Janica, do you have names of local shops where to buy tulip vases like the ones at 7:23? I live in Michigan, USA. Thank you. BTW Haarlem is great, visited the city 15 years ago.
@@wysiwyg2489 royal Delft is extremely, extremely expensive, though! Expect hundreds of dollars. You can find those vases for a few dollars in every souvenir shop in Amsterdam and Haarlem. OK they are chinese knock offs, but who cares?

Janica its a nice vlog and very informative 😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
Thank you very much! 🥰
I was there at the flower floats parked from the parade 23rd April and the fun fair was there then. Maybe they kept it for a while longer.
This was filmed a bit before that, but that might have very well been the reason they had it there!! 😊
Flowers & fresh air ❤
Excellent City.. excellent country 😇💟🤗🇧🇷👌💡⭐
