Wonderful video about a truly menacing 'Mech. What would have made it more terrifying would have been the Smoke Jaguars habit of massing Dire Wolves together in a Star and using it as a battering ram to just smash aside any opposition. And if you're driving largely 3025 tech stuff against a Star of Dire Wolves coming slowly at you, you're probably in a LOT of trouble unless you massively outnumber them, or can break up their formation or have things like artillery and the like. But a Star of Dire Wolves could easily smash aside a Company without breaking a sweat. One thing that always surprised me is that you don't see a Dire Wolf with a UAC-20 or LB-20 until you get the S config although I would assume that weapon mix would be around in REVIVAL too, or perhaps the design was seen as being too slow to bring that big gun into range.

The King Crab may be my top favorite Assault battlemech, but I still look on the Dire Wolf with great reverence. Thing's a beast. Every time I'm faced with one, my first thought is "Ah crap, it's a Daishi!" Even if I happen to be using one as well.
The Dire Wolf was the first model I ever bought outside of the models I received in the 3rd edition box. It's also the only mech I have ever painted. I absolutely loved this mech ever since I first saw it.cl.of the way of the clans novel.
I used to run a version that had 3 large pulse lasers, a targeting computer, an ultra ac/10, 10 extra double heat sinks and jump jets the rest of the tonnage I devoted to ammo. Light on weapons but I could fire everything, walk and kill any mech with one shot if I used the targeting comp if I hit.
I'm watching this while staunching my bleeding finger after reaching into my toiletries bag and finding my razor case was open... It's a great distraction!
So the new plan is to turn the dire star into a tabletop mech…will it be effective? Eh…maybe, but it will be fun….I shudder at the BV costs of that thing.

The Dire Star Reminds me of the "Sleepy" Awesome build for Battletech 2018. Kill. Sleep. Kill. Sleep.
Once I heard B33f I knew that the direstar would be mentioned
FACE THE STORM
Amazing video enjoyed every moment of it. Can't wait for 3055
Thank you Defiant!
Wow! I did not know that the B33F had a nice French pronunciation.
It Slices, it Daishi's, it juliennes
Thank you for another great mech analysis video!
My favorite Clan Assault...
And now that I think about it; it's a Stalker with arms...
Thank you, Big Red-40TECH.
No thank you!
The first picture of a mech I ever saw was a dire wolf.
Its end of line what I'd pick if I could have any mech..
It shits urbies
It makes an atlas think about its life choices
Its the DIRE WOLF
100 TONS OF GUESS WHAT INNER SPHERE? WE ARE BACK
Thank you for the video 😮
The King Crab may be my top favorite Assault battlemech, but I still look on the Dire Wolf with great reverence.
Thing's a beast. Every time I'm faced with one, my first thought is "Ah crap, it's a Daishi!"
Even if I happen to be using one as well.
Mr.tex dropped you a thanks on his latest post for you supporting his video on the hunchback, thought that was way cool!
Great Review... and the Dire Star, have mercy!
The Dire Wolf was the first model I ever bought outside of the models I received in the 3rd edition box. It's also the only mech I have ever painted. I absolutely loved this mech ever since I first saw it.cl.of the way of the clans novel.
TheB33F!! Awesome video guys, keep them coming. Great to see you again in MWO also(:
I spit out my soda when I heard the B33F's voice. I require another one.
It was an honour to work with B33F on this video. I was so hyped as the video came together.
Makes me think of a stalker with a dump truck merged into the torso and a pair of arms
Best video so far
100 tons of fun, clan certified.
I miss the Daishi from my MW3 days.
Been looking forward to this one 😀
B33f is the Man!
100%
I used to run a version that had 3 large pulse lasers, a targeting computer, an ultra ac/10, 10 extra double heat sinks and jump jets the rest of the tonnage I devoted to ammo. Light on weapons but I could fire everything, walk and kill any mech with one shot if I used the targeting comp if I hit.
Great video and great surprise narrator!
I'm watching this while staunching my bleeding finger after reaching into my toiletries bag and finding my razor case was open... It's a great distraction!
oooof. I hope the video helps!
Oh absolutely, you and your colleagues vids are my primary battletech fix as usual!
You forgot the most Dire mechwarrior of them all... Mark Knopfler.
Awesome you got the B33f to collaborate
B33F's one of the best BT youtubers in history. I was overjoyed when he agreed to hop on board for this one.
Here comes Big Red to sell me another Clan mech. At this rate I am going to have to buy the Command Star.
This video is very special. I hope you enjoy. :)
If you actually play the game past the Clan Invasion era, there is no reason NOT to buy a clan command star, even if you are a Spheroid.
I allready did after the Summoner and Stormcrow vids...
So the new plan is to turn the dire star into a tabletop mech…will it be effective? Eh…maybe, but it will be fun….I shudder at the BV costs of that thing.
The B33f's DapperJager video is legendary 👌
Big red is a Big Chad
B33F was a true gentlemen for helping out with the video.
Love it when good guys work together. Be happy my dude
My favorite assault mech.
TheB33f! The legend himself!
Holy crap! The B33f cameo!!!
It was the B33F speaking.
Love me some B33F
Glorious.
A mech as subtle as slam firing a Winchester 1897 Trench Gun point blank into their face and then gut them with the bayonet afterwards.
OF COURSE if you give a B33F a DWF… Is there anyone who did not see that coming?
Thank you!
Dire Wolf I call it the Curse Wolf. The handful of times I used it. I get killed off way too fast!
Of all the battlemechs that exist, to me The DireWolf is the incarnation of Death itself
Another great video. What's the chances of ever getting a Kodiak video?
The Kodiak is from 3058.
I cover the TRO's more or less in order (though some exceptions are made for mechs that might be relevant due to outside events.)
We just finished TRO 3050.
We're moving onto TRO 3055.
@@BigRed40TECH not sure how I missed that. I will be patient and enjoy all the future content. Thanks again for all your videos.
NGL when you said MWO I thought Beef was going to talk about the Direwolf Ultraviolet
Welcome back, BEEF!
Another great awesome video.
Thanks Troy! :D
