“Essentially A Disaster” | New Attorney General Told Labour To Allow Councils Boycott Israel

- The Attorney General, who was recently appointed, previously recommended that the Labour Party should permit public bodies to boycott Israel.
Richard Hermer KC provided legal advice in July regarding Tory plans to prohibit all public bodies from initiating their own divestment campaigns against foreign countries and territories.
Gary Mons from the National Jewish Assembly joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

I also remember the 80's under Thatchers 'glorious' rule with massive inflation, massive interest rates, the wrecking of our industries, selling off of our assets and 3 million unemployed. They said 'Labour wasn't working' in their election adverts then proceeded to double the unemployment number. Actually the unemployment figures were probably more than treble that but they hid most of it in 'seasonally adjusted' figures and job creation YTS schemes. The highest rate of tax was 83% under Labour. We had a 3 day week, rotting piles of rubbish on the streets and energy shortages. We were bankrupted by socialism and had to go cap in hand to the IMF for a bail out. It will happen again when Labour run out of our money to spend.

These actions are not only abhorrent and immoral, but are totally contrary to International Law, and it requires a deeply warped sense of morality to support such evil activities.

So, I will say this only once more but Palestine was a name attributed to the lands previously known as Samairia, Judea and Philistine, by way of geography and labelled as that by Emperor Hadrian. Yes that's right, the Roman emperor back in the second century AD. You can check it out, he built the wall to keep the Scots out of England.
So the lands referenced here as Palestine or modern day Israel, has been managed or administered by the Romans, the Ottomans, the Egyptians and Jordanians prior to the creation of the state of Israel. As implied by Judea and Samairia, you would know these as Jewish occupied lands for many years although not necessarily ruled by Jews, they have been associated with this geographical area for around 3,500 years. Remember, its the people that define the country, not the other way around.
So a country name or a name given to lands is precisely that and nothing more. If we are to be realistic about land, countries are human constructs and are only recognised by humans because we love our labels.
Technically, there is only the land and the sea, which is why war is ridiculous and insanity itself. No living creatures other than humans are aware of the existence of such labels and are not impeded by its constraints as defined by humans.
In the end, we all are nothing. We have no bearing on the outcome of the Earth no matter how important you think you are, you are nothing.
Get used to being nothing, it defines what we are.

I have no interest in the middle east or what goes on in it but I cant see Israel having gone this far stopping now in whatever it is trying to do but if no solution is found then labour are going to have to deal with riots on the streets of london, not that I care about that either but I would be interested in seeing the response to it as they have in no way a police force fit for purpose that could cope with the energy of those that protest who would have no issue using violence and causing damage to property. There's a separation of duties between local and federal governments, and in some cases the federal government has no ability to interfere directly with local government decisions. I hope the attorney understands that you can't commit illegal actions, even if you want to prevent terrorists. This is why Israel is setting the lowest civilian-to-combatant casualty ratio in history, btw

The Attorney General provided advice to the Labour party based on the law, not on what the Labour party wanted to hear or whether it fitted with the Labour Party policy or that of the Jewish lobby.
