this is just surreal, its like watching the avengers or something, and the welded ball joint part was hilarious, i think its cool they turned a potential beef into a really funny souvenir
It was truly awesome to see my three YT favs in one RV on a road trip! I've learned so much from you three. I started with Eric O's vids, he turned me on to Ivan's and they both turned me on to ScannerDanner. Now I have to budget in the book pretty soon...wish I'd been at the Meet Up just to try and get a book! Thanks to all three of you! You guys are awesome!
That was a freaking awesome time! Thank you Paul for taking me and Eric O. on the road trip...hopefully we can do it again next year! Did you hear rumors of an SMA meetup next summer in NY? :)
Paul. Without a doubt, you "Carried" this video - NO question about it. You have the personality to do it - I think it comes from all of the years of interaction with students. You have to "be da man" with them - you have to tell them they are wrong, about something, and not make them feel bad. Great job! Loved seeing you, Eric and Ivan together. I faithfully follow you guys. Have learned a great deal from all of you.Eric's right: "If I can do it - you can do it." Many, many thanks for a great video. Reminds me a great deal of my "airplane fly-ins. Fun too.
It's been great watching all the Meet Up videos from the different channel perspectives. Each gives a slightly different viewpoint and it made those of us who would have liked to go, feel like we were there. It's great to see my three favorite channel guys (Eric O, Ivan and you) in one place! I've watched the good majority of your videos but comment on very few. You do a great service. I will be buying your book as soon as I can decide which to buy (ebook vs. hard copy) and save up a bit. Thanks for taking us along, Paul!
Great Video Paul. I gotta try and get out there next year. When I first saw a TH-cam video on cars its was Erick the car guy, Then that gave me the inspiration to start making videos. Then when I came across yours you reminded me of one of my teachers who was a professor in the Automotive field That I looked up to who taught me how to Diagnose just like you teach your students . Thanks to YOU, ETCG, SMA and the TH-cam community you guys make it a great experience and shorten the learning curve. God Bless you and your family brother.
I feel your pain on European cars. Helped a mechanic mate solve a Renault Espace with an "Intake air circuit open or short to ground" fault code. We were looking for air temperature sensor issues, concluding that was OK. Unlike the first scan tool the verus wouldn't give an explanation but did give what appeared to be the code in hex. A Google search of this code and using translate to debug all the French finally led to it being the solenoid controlling the secondary throttle body. During the process I started thinking perhaps "circuit" meant the path the air follows. So right. Love what you do, keep up the great work!
Great example! Had a VW with an inop wiper circuit after messing around with the crank sensor. Turns out, the wiper module is on the CAN network and wants to see the hood switch closed to operate. There was absolutely NO information about this anywhere and NOTHING on the diagram to suggest such over engineered b.s. The wiper arms would never hit the hood even with it open!
+ScannerDanner And if you ask the engineer why he did it he'd say "Because we CAN"....... Technology is great but using it just because is silly. I bet it was because the washer jets wouldn't hit the glass right. Love it
oh man I could see that all of you were having so much fun. I'm all the way over here watching this with a smile on my face like I'm there. got to say again great video. fun to watch.
What an awesome video, can’t believe haven’t come across this! Been following scanner danner for about a year now and watched most of his diagnostics video learning a lot from him. Vice grip garage, Eric the car guy, Schrodinger, Rachet and Wrenches are some of my favourite must watch car videos for sure. Rally nice to see you guys acknowledging each others work and meeting like this. Keep torquing guys awesome stuff!
Nice to see you guys getting along so well. That's the way it should be. Poor Scotty Kilmer he always takes so much heat, and the guy is super cool and funny. He was the guy missing in order to have the league of justice. LOL. God bless you Bro!!
Mr. Danner, I'm a premium subscriber and I had no idea this event was taking place. If I had I would have done anything I could to be there. You guys ETCG, Eriric O, Ivan, Disgruntled Mechanic, you're all my heroes. Oh almost forgot James Danner, you're alright too. If at all possible and this event happens next year, I'll be there.
This is one of the most enjoyable things I've seen on TH-cam. I think Eric O should put together a compilation of all the times (yeah, Vanessa O included) where everyone took a crack at that ball joint. Then end it with your "healing moment".....I love it, good natured. Glad to see everyone having a grand laugh about it all!
when i saw the title i assumed you and 2 or 3 other guys were going to see Eric and that would be it, like a few beers round a campfire or something. Turns out you have like a 'Woodstock' for mechanics haha looked awesome, tbanks for filming it for us Paul
Nice one Paul, you guys are hilarious. I started watching ETCG , then saw Paul collab with him. Subbed to Paul then found Eric and Ivan. You guys taught me alot!
great vid Paul. I'm wondering if putting the SMA sticker on my truck will cure the misfire. was an unforgettable experience having all the talent under my hood at once
Great video Paul. The comrodery between you all is awesome. Drive safe in that boat and in the future let's see a combination event put on by all you guys at the same time. An Auto repair swap meet with part manufacturers combined with a camping weekend at an open public fair grounds would work. They have the big out buildings that would hold a lot of manufacturers tables and swap meet tables. You guys could pull it off and if it was centrally located somewhere like Lower Indiana, it could become the largest auto repair swap and manufacturer get together in the country! Run with it just make sure to let everyone know well in advance so there is time to make plans. Jpol
T was great that you, Eric, Ivan, Mike & Keith could be together. I thought we were going to see road rage when that guy cut you off... I know you guys had a good time especially talking pig mating...:-) Ivan recorded Eric fixing Mike's truck which was cool & Eric posted his version also. I'm originally from upstate NY so when I come visit my family I'll have to swing by and see you guys.
Man if I could just be apart of the family dude I will figure out the rest along the way.. Man I love the brotherhood all of the greats in one place at on time having a good time .. Awesome!!! I'm coming brother I promise im working on my gift.. Thank you for everything Paul.. Much Love Fam...
Hey there Paul awesome video...putting u all together is like the USA TEAM,THE FANTASTIC FOUR OF THE AUTO DIAGNOSIS...WOW MAN CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THAT...ALSO LIKE UR VIDEOS "SCANNER D"..CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONES...
Have watched the other meet up vids and looks like it was a really cool day. Gotta say though wiring in American cars must be a little different cos if ya poking holes in wires your actually helping and letting the humidity out which we all know causes corrosion where as here on a lot of cars it lets the smoke out which its a real pain to try and get back in.
Juses Craps!! Paul, how have I not seen this before today?? SMAC's too!! I have been laughing from the beginning.. Holy shit, you guys could do TV.. Maybe make a movie !!!!! I nearly pissed my pants when you said poking holes in wires was good for them. (VENT) !!!!!! Hahahahahahahaa... What a RIOT!!! You guys got Eric O pretty good too.. The look on his face when he was shamed.. lol... IN THE CORNER !!! Hahahahahahaaaa.... I need a beer.....
great video I enjoyed your ball joint explanation footage especially, like you said at worst it will rattle ,I am buying one of your books soon. How do you find out when the meetups occur?
that's the same way i felt when i saw the book in my mail!!! Now is in my tool box everyday! thanks paul and etcg i think we all agree we have learned a lot of things with you guys keep doing this! ! BTW paul i still laughing about the spider men!! jaja
Looks like a good time. I thought it was funny that you guys brought a pile of tools and testers, and Ivan didn't have the one tool that he needed. Chris
No disrespect meant to Eric at all, but, while Eric's channel was great to peak my interest in cars, his introducing me to Paul's videos is what kept me interested, and while I still follow ETCG very closely, I find myself looking for more ScannerDanner (Premium) vids more often. 👍
This is a craigslist ad I found. Selling a 99 mercury cougar has 139k miles. its manual 5spd won't shift into gear not sure what's wrong with it. maybe clutch is bad or shift fork not sure really. check engine light on for oxygen sensor. asking 550 obo. Should I buy it or not?
ScannerDanner The Caps fuel system is based on a rotary Injection Pump. Let me know what system you have if it's caps or Common Rail, if you ever get broken down or your trying to figure something out let me know and I'll help you out.
+ScannerDanner I work on Caps Systems all the time, plus I have tons of scope captures and I have a few case studies I have done on them. Plus I work on on the Common Rail Systems quite a bit too. One tip I do have for you is make sure you don't let your Motor Home sit too long because the mixture of the Diesel fuel has a certain percentage of Bio Diesel in it. Thus if it sits too long Algae can form in the tank and then get to your pump and injectors. I would change your fuel filters more often if I were you. Let me know if you have any issues and I"ll help you out.
seems as this video progressed you got drunker and drunker . but the video reminds me a lot of super man vs batman, like what! eric o ,eric, ivan and dannner in the same video my brains going to exploded
Wow Eric, what a turn out man, You are getting into Microphone and PA system territory. Maybe next meet up, im sure it will save your voice if nothing else ;P Some day i will make it out, some day.... = \
You guys are so awesome. Wish you weren't on another continent. Even though you hate our cars, Paul. (I don't blame your reasoning at all, though, it's indeed a massive pain to get any official documentation on them.)
I don't really hate them, if the info was there as it is for all of the Asian and domestic markets, I wouldn't mind at all. It's just a struggle every step of the way on the Euro cars, especially the German market.
Like I said, I absolutely get the sentiment, it's a pain. Also, there should've probably been a winking smiley there, it might've come off way more serious than it was actually meant to :) It was just a lighthearted jab in the spirit of the whole video.
hi sir am one of you student in Qatar but am a Ghanaian to I get one problem in my shop and I need your help,l have this code on Nissan altima 2014 and when i check it give me weak battery or dead battery I changed the battery and it stop but just this evening it came to shop with the same problem, when the car is going it go off Automatically
10:40 YEAH please make a video about horrorstorys with cars :D From the stupid missdiagnose to the discusting smelly rat on the valvecover ^^ (we have them normaly on coolant reservoir)
Sorry but I honestly believe Scotty is a hack compared to ETCG, you, SMA, ect...he don't cover a lot of stuff that you all cover. Step by step; detail by detail of repair's for those of us who don't have the automotive tech school back round. Scanner Danner is the automotive theory channel, and SMA ETCG are the hands on channels. I love all of your stuff you guys do; this video was hilarious! Keep up the awesome work you guys do!!
thanks man! We all do bring something to the table that is a little different. What is super cool for me? These guys are now my friends! TH-cam brought us together. How cool is that?
Totally wicked! you guys/girls make the best content I have seen on the interwebs since I started studying automotive technology. Oh and my shop I work for is paying for my first ASE cert in a few weeks...I so can't wait to go in that room and smash the test into the ground. Your channel's are me going to school; using your video's to learn my trade and take that and do my best to put it in the real world.
this is just surreal, its like watching the avengers or something, and the welded ball joint part was hilarious, i think its cool they turned a potential beef into a really funny souvenir
Right on Paul! Great video man! Can't wait to do it again soon!
did you see the ball joint footage. It's in there late.
For sure we need to hang out again soon.
Sorry I didn't include our stories, it would have been too long.
Oh no prob I figured it would have been way long. yeah of course I watched the whole thing :) I can work and watch YT at the same time, come on now :)
Go to ETCG Meet they said, you'll get a welded balljoint they said, I'tll be a healing moment Paul Danner said. :D

Thanks for the shout out Paul! What a great time!
Looks like you guys had a great time & you got your door locks fixed by Eric O. Did he sign your door panel :-)
I think he put an SMA sticker on it!
Cool

I loved watching Eric O.'s & and Mike's videos abut the meetup. Yours makes me wish I was able to make it even more now. Next!
What a great time. The ball joint was the best prize of all! Classic. Thanks for the video, it makes me want to go again next year.

Thanks for coming! Awesome to meet you too.
Looks like everybody had a great time. Thanks for sharing Paul.
you are so good in explaining and sharing your knowledge ..thank you
Fun video. Love the good-natured horseplay, the welded ball-joint, deferring to Kilmer as the Godfather....You guys are a great community.
This is awesome- I love how the inside of the motor home looks on camera! W. Garrison
Thanks Wendy! I have to remember your TH-cam handle
great to see you together you are my cars genus you are all learn me all what i know now thanks to you and for your great friends
I'm not sure which is funnier, Scanner Danner not having cooking utensils in the RV or Eric O receiving the welded ball joint
awesome video paul. you deserve everything that is happenning to you. technicians like myself are very fortunate to have you. god bless you.
Great video, You guys are so good together, really entertaining.
Maybe next year I will join the party. It looks like you all had a good time, including the fella smokin' bud in the parking lot!

Outstanding, looked like heaps of fun. Hopefully next year I'll make it from New Zealand and we can have a BBQ cook off!

Nice to see you guys getting along so well. That's the way it should be. Poor Scotty Kilmer he always takes so much heat, and the guy is super cool and funny. He was the guy missing in order to have the league of justice. LOL.

Hopefully next year I will come to Eric's meet up. I would like to bring a bus but unfortunately my license is intrastate only, lol.

This is like the Holy Grail of Automotive fixers...Oh my God...I've learned a lot from these guys....
Looks like you guys had a great time!
Have watched the other meet up vids and looks like it was a really cool day. That's funny, The wife and I was talking about there being no ketchup too.
I love to see people have a good time. I only wish i could have joined in.

Looks like a great time! Would love to check it out sometime.
No disrespect meant to Eric at all, but, while Eric's channel was great to peak my interest in cars, his introducing me to Paul's videos is what kept me interested, and while I still follow ETCG very closely, I find myself looking for more ScannerDanner (Premium) vids more often. 👍
when you mentioned a welder for a giveaway, I was laughing and hoping you'll get the WELDED BALLJOINT.
Is it possible for someone from canada to take your course threw rosedale? Really wanting to take my 12volt knowledge to the next level!
Did you want to study with me on-line or come to Rosedale in person?

Ivan looks so excited in this video.
Paul, why don't you start doing meet ups with a couple of case studies thrown in on the day? That'd be fun!
correction upstate starts at the Adirondacks, Eric is from central new york
Very cool video Paul ... you should wear your free shirt .. I paid for the privilege of owning one of Ivan's shirts :)
Poor Eric O. Lol. Too funny to see him get that control arm!
Paul what powers your Motor Home? Cummins by chance?
Cummins 8.3 (It's a 2001 MY)
+ScannerDanner Caps Fuel system?
ScannerDanner The Caps fuel system is based on a rotary Injection Pump. Let me know what system you have if it's caps or Common Rail, if you ever get broken down or your trying to figure something out let me know and I'll help you out.
I'll definitely be taking you up on that. It's a CAPS system
+ScannerDanner I work on Caps Systems all the time, plus I have tons of scope captures and I have a few case studies I have done on them. Plus I work on on the Common Rail Systems quite a bit too. scanner danner is a god in automotive!!!! ur biggest fan
Seat belts on? Safety third!
wow, you are the only one to comment about the seat belts! I though everyone would be giving them so much crap
Everyone should be!
I noticed right away but who needs another mom...Watching Ivan in that loose chair right in the middle was a bit scary, though!
Eric O. has the same selfystik/tripod I do. Great minds think alike. lol
Awesome vid Paul. Your just as twisted as me and then some. Cheers brother and maybe someday we can have a beer together.
haha no way man, you are way more twisted than me :-)
ScannerDanner Dam your always right LMAO
Wow! Awesome turnout! Would have been awesome to have had a dyno
Btw I just subscribed to your channel. So awesome watched lots of your videos. Great stuff. I wish I could've been at the meet up and win a book!!
sorry sir i forget to add the code is P1212 on Nissan altima 2014
Oh my god I'm so glad you gave eric a bunch of shit about that balljoint. That was hilarious.
Dumb & Dumber, agreed. Those guys just weren't cut out for life on the road. As Eric O about the axle he attempted to remove on a Chrysler minivan
seems as this video progressed you got drunker and drunker . but the video reminds me a lot of super man vs batman, like what! eric o ,eric, ivan and dannner in the same video my brains going to exploded
Wow Eric, what a turn out man, You are getting into Microphone and PA system territory. Maybe next meet up, im sure it will save your voice if nothing else ;P Some day i will make it out, some day.... = \
Hold up, Eric welded the incorrect ball joint into a lower control arm?
I love how @southmainauto conveniently didn't show footage of him receiving control arm in his video hahahah Brilliant!
You guys are so awesome. Wish you weren't on another continent.
Even though you hate our cars, Paul. (I don't blame your reasoning at all, though, it's indeed a massive pain to get any official documentation on them.)
