If you see how they’re positioned once they all sit on stage, there’s a space between James and Jason with the spotlight on the empty gap. That’s Cliff’s spot.
that is BS. This recording was from a time before they started grieving about the loss of Cliff. As many documentary has show the Metallica train just kept on rolling and they didn't realize the loss until the mid nineties.
Jason is an excellent bass player and after Cliff died Jason became the heart and soul of Metallica. He was so happy to be in Metallica and he showed his love of the music and respect and appreciation for the fans every single show. Having said that there is no one who can play Cliffs bass licks like Cliff especially with a pick and thats not a crack on Jason its just a fact. I think Cliff would have liked Jason and thats the ultimate compliment. Just to end this Robert is a great bass player also and has done well with Metallica and helped continue the legacy. How many bands can say theyve had three great bass players?
NOT a knock against Jason, but he was absolutely not the heart and soul of the band. They never truly accepted him, never treated him as an equal and just never did him right. That's not his fault, it's mostly James' and Larz's fault. Cliff was an innovator, an original. Replacing him with Jason was like Ozzy replacing Randy with Jake E. Lee. Yeah, Jake had talent, but there was only one Randy.
@@seanj3667 Jason was the heart and soul of Metallica to the fans not to the band. And then, after this beautiful tribute to Cliff, they play Master of Puppets, which was Cliff’s favorite track on that album. I’d like to think that they put it there to propose a toast to their fallen brother.

Action is too low at the bridge or the truss rod may need adjusting(take some relief out of the neck, make it straighter. Get the neck perfectly straight, and then put just a hair of relief in the neck so it's bowed ever so slightly like in the shape of a U. In all honesty, there's nothing wrong with having the neck straight either though many prefer having a little relief. And when I say a little, I really do mean a little. Plenty of things can be the cause of fret buzz. But I'm almost positive that you simply have too much relief in the neck which is why you're getting buzz on the 1st through 5 frets only. The strings are closer to the frets closer to the headstock, but don't buzz after that. I'm also gonna guess you're fretting out notes on the upper frets too, getting dead notes that don't ring. Take the guitar to a tech, have them set the neck & action(and intonation while you're there) and watch them as they do it. It's absolutely not impossible to do it yourself and a lot of people make it out to be brain surgery when it's not, but you definitely want to learn from someone who knows what they're doing before you mess with it for the first time.
